ParticipantTerry_42 is, as per usual, the voice of wisdom! I own a numark controller, and with hindsight I would have got the TM8. I’d wait till after NAMM 2015 (if you can?) as the price is very likely to go down after the announcement of new gear/tech being released in the coming year? BTW the TM8 is nearly half the price of the DDJ-SX2.

ParticipantThe Pioneer DJM900 SRT has been reduced by £150 here in the UK! FTW!!

ParticipantPost the link on twitter Jeroen, and copy pioneer into it?

ParticipantI use a 2.4GHz Core 2 duo hp EliteBook 6930p, with 4GB of RAM running 64-bit Windows 8, and it works fine. Modern Windows hardware is more than capable of running serato, for a fraction of the cost of a mac.

ParticipantI’ve done my research, and I know exactly how much all the kit will cost me now. I’ll be watching the prices like the FTSE, so I’ll keep you informed of my progress. The Stanton STR8-150s and Pioneer PLX 1000s have made my watchlist too. Till then, it’s all about practice and music.

ParticipantI want the authentic vinyl feel that you just don’t get with the NS7 II, despite the spinning platters. Don’t get me wrong the NS7 II is a fantastic bit of kit, but for me it’s more of a personal thing I guess. Am I making any sense? I’ve not been anywhere near a TT in about 4-5 years, and I was blown away when I saw/researched the NS7 II. That said, after having it for a little over a month, I yearn for a real 12″ TT? Don’t get me wrong, I don’t hate the NS7 II and will continue to use it. I just won’t be complete till I have a DVS TT setup. I plan on getting a couple of TTs and connecting them up to the NS7 II to begin with.

ParticipantI’ve got an NS7 II, and plan on getting some TTs. I’ve done some research, but don’t feel I’m qualified to advise you? I got some great pointers from a lot of very knowledgeable DJs on the forum. Vintage, Marco and Terry to name a few. These guys really know their stuff!

ParticipantGood for you! Let me know you thoughts on it?

ParticipantThanks Marco and Terry. I have my heart set on the numark TTXUSBs and the Pioneer DJM 900-STR. Throw in the DDJ SP1, and I’ve got my work cut out for me. I won’t be buying anything for at least a year, so I’m hoping the equipment will be a little cheaper by then?

ParticipantThanks for the input fellas! I’ve been doing some research, and I’m thinking I’d better start saving my pennies. I’m planning and hoping that a lot of the gear will be a little cheaper when it comes time to purchase it in around 12 months? I LOVE the NS7, but I really want a TT setup to hone my turntablism skills.

ParticipantIf I had to choose, the SZ. If I had a choice, neither.

ParticipantThanks DJ Vintage! That helps a LOT! I’m planning on getting a couple of numark ttxusb TTs, and since posting, I’ve been looking at the pioneer DJM-900 SRT and SP1 as I also plan on using serato. Ha! I’m not a millionaire, but save around a couple of K a year, and if I don’t spend it the house will continue to fill with shoes and handbags if you get my drift?

ParticipantI use an NS7 II, but eventually want to get a vinyl (time-code) setup. I’m only worried about being able to control the majority of serato functions from the mixer?
