MemberI’d go for at least an Intel Core i5, although an i3 would be fine. Also go for 4+ GB of RAM, preferably 8GBs.
You should also look into getting an SSD, a 256GB one, buy you can buy it separate and mount it yourself.
The screen size is all up to you, but make sure to get over 1360×768 resolution, I feel 4 decks on a 1360×768 screen gets a little to tight.
I’d go for either 1600×900 or 1920×1080.HerrGoreMann
MemberIf you’re going to use the laptop for other purposes than DJing aswell, create a separate partition for your DJin needs.

MemberI really do feel the same!
I spend a lot of time doing and thinking about DJ related things. The first thing I talk about in the morning when I meet my friends is always a new beast track, some cool gear or something along those lines.HerrGoreMann
MemberI’d go with the Denon of those. Although I’d probably go for the Allen & Heath Xone: DB2.

MemberYeah. I’ve noticed that too.

MemberIf you’re located in Europe I can highly recommend http://www.Thomann.de.

MemberI don’t use samples so I remapped the sample-volumeknob to filter and “A” to activate filter on deck A and “B” to activate filter on deck B.

MemberSo I just wanted to put out an update.
I went for the Kontrol S2 because of Traktor. I am more used to Traktor than to Itch.
It should be arriving this monday.June 9, 2012 at 9:41 pm in reply to: Absolute beginner questions: Something silly you were afraid to ask… #1005892HerrGoreMann
MemberWhy is there a cue button when we also got a play/pause.

We have a DJ booth at our school, using CDJs and schtuff. I’ve been practising there for a while now. I just came home like 20 minutes ago from a party we held for our school, so I did do some DJing there.
And I think I will buy the Twitch, it’s alot cheaper. I don’t feel like paying that much, the Kontrol S2 isn’t worth the extra $160. At least not for me.

MemberMy DJ software atm is Traktor. I find it the easiest to play around with using only mouse and keyboard. I will try using both Serato Itch and Traktor when my Novation Twitch arrives. Then i will choose which one I like the most.

I wasn’t talking about sound quality. I just didn’t think my mixes sounded any better when i played with jogwheels. Sorry for the confusion.
HerrGoreMann
MemberI have tried jogs, and I can’t say it sounded better with them.
So the Twitch is a good choice? -
