ParticipantReloop Beatmix for VDJ

ParticipantYep you can get the Terminal Mix bundled with full-fat Serato DJ. I haven’t seen better (non-spinning) platters for scratching.

ParticipantDo you still differing qualities if you run Traktor using your internal soundcard?
What about using WMP with your external soundcard?
Check you don’t have any filters or FX activated in Traktor and reset all your EQshenley
ParticipantI’m looking at creating a little studio space, but floor stands aren’t really feasible due to the space, which is why I asked the question. Got some pads to go underneath the speakers so will try and rig up some shelves. Can probably get hold of some Soborthane feet which should do the trick.
Thanks for your help.

ParticipantIs it really a bad idea to place monitors on the desk (using foam pads)?

ParticipantUsually the retailer you purchased it from would be the first point of call.

ParticipantCan’t really say much about the 4Trak as I’ve never used one but the Terminal Mix is a very sturdy 4 channel controller, which works great with Traktor or VDJ (a skin is available). The jogwheels are excellent, particularly if you’re learning to scratch. It’s bus powered meaning no additional PSU (if that’s a plus?), you can plug in 1 extra sound source (line/phono), but it can’t be used as a standalone mixer like the Numark. It also opens you up to the world of Serato which will give you tighter jogwheel control.

ParticipantThe knob on the S2 only controls the output of the soundcard. It does not control the software master

ParticipantThe master knob is analogue i.e. it only controls the volume of the soundcard.

ParticipantThe clue is in the name. It’s a remote control for Serato. As was said before, some controllers don’t have enough buttons to control everything, or they’re an afterthought. It’s also less intrusive having a little iPad in front of you rather than a laptop screen. It might even help get rid of SeratoFace (!).
I think that SSL users will find it more useful than SDJ.henley
ParticipantThe mic is most likely routed straight to the master output and therefore has no interaction with the software. Recording internally means that it doesn’t pick up the mic signal. Some controllers allow you to route the mic through the software (usually a switch next to the input). If yours does, you need to route it through deck C or D as a live input.

Participantif the jockey remix is out of your budget, you could look at its previous incarnation the jockey 3 me (master edition). same build quality but without the cool fx mapping. under £450 new in the uk or maybe you could find one used for cheaper.
