FB Fan pages are nothing more than just a popularity contest. I can understand if you own a business or a studio or something like that for having a “Fan page” But if you are just a DJ…why bother? I would rather have just my own FB page as my fan page and my actual page.

But this is just my opinion…i like to be personal with everyone my fans, and my friends…I dont keep co-workers or any of my family on my facebook page…thats just asking for trouble. As well regarding facebook privacy settings you can change any of them within Facebook.

There is even a option to have it so none of your content can be used by other outside sources

yeah its not a matter of isolation for me its a comfort thing…i find any type of headphones that sit on my ear tend to hurt my ear after an hour or so, which is fine when im doing a shorter set but for those long nights…its a PITA

Said it once and ill say it again…

Asking what type of headphones are best is like asking what type of pants are best…

Its all personal preference…i mean really someone who weights 300 lbs would not wear slim fit boot cut TR jeans…
As well as a 150lbs dude would not want to wear size 38 sweatpants….

    What are your personal preferences:
How much money do you want to spend…
What do you prefer over ear or on the ear…
Do you wear them around your neck or on your head…
How abusive are you with your gear?
    Are u clumsy?

These are all factors that will determine what you will want to buy.

You will have fanboys all over these forums touting that what they use are the best…and to them they are right…but what he likes and what u like are totally different.

Personally I love my HDJ2000s and i wouldnt trade them for anything…Super comfy for myself, great sound, and the all metal construction rock. the Denons im not a big fan of…although they sound good…they do not fully wrap about my ear and cause some discomfort for extended use.

Oh and lastly…dont freakin buy the Beats…they may look nice…but the sound is super colored on them…great for listening to your ipod…but not for mixing.

Here is the review of the HDJ2000s

Its all about footwork. Here are a few tips that i have learned to get a bigger crowd out:

Book multiple DJs if you are gonna be doing a whole night have 4 DJs…and spend a little money on booking a DJ that is rather popular in your city…not a big headliner but like a big local DJ…have him headline your show. This is one that often gets missed in smaller venues such as bars and pubs…but book your DJs according to what they play. Have a good vibe running through the whole night and you will attract more of the randoms in your establishment.

Foot work as mentioned above…But do proper footwork. Goto other clubs on the weekend stay sober and hand out flyers…just be careful that you are not promoting a night in a different club that has something happeneing on your same night. ( this pisses them off…true story). Post Flyers…not just around your venue…but hit the local hotspots for your age group…College bulletin boards…Universitys, ask any of the local hangouts restaurants/pool halls etc. if u can post a flyer or 2 up.

Go out and actually meet people, find other local nights with local djs and chat them up. Facebook although is a great social networking site…its like the new Spam mail of the internet…everyone gets hundreds of invites with tons of HEY SUPPORT ME! messages…and frankly no one gives a shit…unless you can connect with these people on a semi-personally level, you are just another nameless face sending spam invites.

Yeah you have to turn keylock on…then there is a knob which u can map…or just use with mouse and adjust the key of the song…that song will then stay in the same key until the end of the song.

From what little i know about keylock…a 6% change doesnt really change the Key…Personally i never use keylock unless i am doing a HUGE bpm shift…say 110 to 128 or something like that…+-5bpm and you wont really notice a difference in key.

As well i want to point out at this time…that using keylock will compress the audio quality of your song, i find that using keylock when not needed makes my songs sound “flat”

Yeah I have heard good things about the TMA-1s. The only thing i really dont like and is just my personal preference is that the ear cushions sit on the ear oppose to around the ear, and that you cant wear around your neck.

If you go into your traktor settings…something about deck settings you can hide the Beatgrid. As well you can Disable the Phase meter.

Its totally okay to keep the BPM of the track showing as this is on CDJs. You can also change the deck view to have static waveform and not the waveform that is moving.

Doing these things makes it about the same as a CDJ900/2000 only with a bigger screen.

No i would totally disagree…When your Gf/ppl say switching out songs to fast…thats not blending…thats cutting going from one song to the next song…blending is being able to add certian elements from one song in to the current song playing…

Blending is probably one of the harder elements of DJing because if you leave your EQ all at 12 and bring the new song in…chances are its going to sound like crap…its tweaking your mids lows and highs to just bring in a snappy high hat or a certian vocal riff…thats REAL blending, and that can create a whole new dimension to the existing song…small little tweaks like that can take a good set to being a great set…well IMO at least LOL.

    Anyone else think differently?

If things dont change in the next couple of days…call/e-mail them and say that you want your money back, and if money isnt transfered back into your accnt you will call your credit card company and claim fraud. That usually will make things move a lot quicker

Yeah I know exactly what you are talking about. Bad mixing/Trainwrecking…and DJs who just stand there doing nothing really bug the crap outta my buddies and I. It’s almost like nails on a chalkboard how aggravating it is LOL

not really cuz from what i can tell the new Nexus series has like no new changes other than color…There are some speculations that the new 2000s will have slipmode and a beatsync via dlink…but nothing that is concrete.
as for the release date I’m gonna assume the Fall cuz thats when the new 1500s are suppose to be released.

From what i know the new CDJs are
    CDJ900Nexus
    CDJ2000Nexus

    So really 900 and 2000 Mk2s.

They were suppose to be released in April 2012 from what i heard i havent seen anything about them actually available. Im assuming they are going to be tying in the Release of the HDJ-1500s with the new Nexus series of CDJs.
