MemberI’m really sorry to hear that. I cannot tell you I know how you feel but whatever time God grants us in this life I believe we can make the best of it. Whatever talent you have making or mixing music that is something you are giving to others to enjoy. What good does giving up do? It just inflicts more pain to others even ppl we don’t really know but hear the news.
I encourage you to keep moving on till God calls you home. I don’t know why we suffer but I believe one day we will find out and understand.
I believe there’s a reason for all of your suffering. We can’t even imagine to comprehend what God’s mind is like, by just looking at this earth he has a plan that we can’t see now.
There is a brighter day coming for all of us. The day we meet our creator and celebrate the new life and earth he will give us. As I read and believe God will wipe all the tears from our eyes, we will party and dance like never before.
And yes I believe there will be house and trance music playing!!! I really do.

(For Today);
I Still Have To Live with The Absolute Desperation Of Feelings That Led Me To The Point Of Suicide;
And Although I ‘Do’ Feel Completely Alone Right Now; with No Higher Power Looking After Me;
I Know (only from Past Experience) that ‘He’ is There; and that When The Time Is Right Things Will Become Calmer
(Usually To a Level Of Approximately 1% From Suicide – Which Is My ‘Balanced’ State Of Normality :();
I Don’t Know Why I Have To Suffer And I Don’t Know What The ‘Big Plan’ Is;
But I Continue To Have Faith; And Pray (For Others) Each DayI suffered for two years straight watching my mom slowly die. I never thought or felt I would smile or be happy again. I questioned God but still kept the faith. I became numb. And still today haven’t fully recovered I will never recover till I hold my mom again.
But today I look back and am thankful I didn’t give up. There is a brighter day ahead no matter what you go through or how you feel now.
Alright from Red Carpet was one song that kept me going. This house track was in my head every moring and every night for a good 3 months before and during the passing of my mom.
I believe God put it there cuz it was such a comfort for me.
Right now you might not feel it or know it but it will get better. You will look back and see how better your life is and how happy you are enjoying the new day given to you. Those small moments in life is why it’s worth living.

It’s the word “illness” that upsets me – Imagine a circle with lots of pin pricks in it – each pin prick is one of us, and that’s our mental state at that particular time. We’re all completely different, we all change all the time, we’re all here but for the grace of god, and while we can only help ourselves at the end of the day, society has no right to call some of those dots on the whole of life’s experience “ill” and some not. We’re all “ill”, and we’ll all go the same way. It’s the condition. And those of us who cope best with it are, to an extent, just kidding ourselves. It’s a big, big universe out there, and it cares not a jot for any of us.
So in my layman’s view, we should just try to all help each other in any way we can, and trust a higher purpose/being/unknown with all the rest.
Nicely put Phil!
I was gonna mention (but didn’t want to open a can of worms) I believe there is a high power out there and that my belief in God has helped me get through the very rough times of my life. I look at it this way if God doesn’t exist at least I had something to carry me through the rough times. And if He does exist, well then there’s no loss there cuz Ill be ready to meet Him when the time comes.
Just my 2 cents :rolleyes:

MemberNo probs! There is help out there just like there is help for someone who has a broken leg. The problem is when the person with the illness refuses help. It’s not as simple as other conditions.

MemberThx 4 the replies.
If I do get one I will just be using one with traktor to learn on. More for just the experience of it. The Statons look good from what I’m seeing. Used 1200’s are hard to find in good condition and new ones are about $900! Statons are about $300 cheaper.

1) It is a horrible experience to know someone you love have this.
2) Yes offer as much as possible but there are times when there is nothing you can do.
3) Yes at the begining when you don’t know excatly what is happening but then realise it is a sickness.
4) Yes but sometimes you need to block it out to not let it effect you.groovemixer

I currently have a Dell Studio 1558 Intel i5 430M at 2.27 Ghz running Windows 7 64Bit and 4Gig Ram and Traktor Pro with my Vestax VCI 100
I also run Tune Up utilities which has function called Turbo Mode that takes away alot of non essential background programs which helps alot
Do you get clicks and drop outs with win7? What is your latency set at? 13ms?

MemberLukeAlive, post: 6623 wrote: Can someone tell me why everyone is saying that Mac is better then PC for djing?
Same here, I have my Asus hard drive in three partitions:
1) Windows 7 (main boot up for everyday use and music editing),
2) Windows XP (use this for DJ’ing only, have as much as I know off, no internet, no virus protection etc. etc.)
3) Back up storage.I ran TP2 on win 7 but had issues so I went back with XP (remember XP is like how old?)
Reason I have dual boot is I dont want my system messed when DJ’ing and the reason I have a storage back up is because at least once sometimes twice a year I need to reformat due to a virus. (sometimes I can fix them but sometimes its just better to install fresh.)I’ve spoke to friends with mac’s and they laugh when I tell lthem my setup. Not saying I hate PC’s but all the points mentioned above took time and effort to do, with lots of trial and error.
Mac’s just seem to work, I’ve had random crashes with my laptop and traktor. Sometime i misx at home for 4 hrs with no issues sometimes I get them.
If you look also at the industry most perfessonal DJ’s and musicans use a Mac. Most Mac users love their system. I found that out with my iPhone, best phone I’ve ever owned!
So ppl please don’t take this as PC/windows bashing I still like my Asus, out of all my friends with Windows based laptops mine is the only one still runnning strong after 3 years!
I do whoever want to try the Mac and see if all the “hype” is true. (so far it is with my iPhone 3Gs)
