I’m checking it out ๐ cheers Phil!
Sounds like it’s got to be worth considering.

MemberI’d like to buy everything ๐ but because I busted by decade old cans last week I think I should get some reasonably cheap comfortable headphones with good ambient sound deadening and decent frequency response. I might get me an Audio DJ2 at the same time as I have the funds to go get these today – but will probably skip the sound card and continue putting the pennies to one side to get a new controller that I can call my own.
In the long run, definitely a controller – possibly one of the Vestax VCI range of controllers on Phil’s recommendation .. Plus a laptop with a much larger screen to run T2 .. I could do with a keyboard vacuum to keep the dust away too.

MemberHas anyone got a side by side comparison mix of a few tracks mixed in key and the same tracks mixed not in key? I keep the key lock on on my Deck A in Traktor for reasons unbeknown to myself *shrugs* lol .. I never use it on Deck B, does that mean I’m half way to mixing in key or is there more to it? I have enough trouble bar & beatmatching without worrying about whether my two, three or four tracks and key locked. ๐

2) There should be buttons in the waveform view that allow you to zoom in more. So you can raise up the waveform visually and make it more prominent. You might want to rescan the tracks in Traktor as well.
I don’t think the zoom alters the amplitude of the waveform in Traktor, only the longitude .. *to be verified!

MemberI’ve just looked this program up @ http://mp3gain.sourceforge.net and the product description is quite appealing .. There are a few mp3s in my collection that people have sent me after trading vinyl rips that could do with benefiting from being run through such a piece of software. I shall report my findings at the beginning of the week when I get back to soberness and work mode haha. side note: I don’t really depend in the waveforms unless there is a complicated breakdown going on and I need a visual representation to spot the ‘Drop’ (most of the time this is audible but sometimes it has to be seen to be believed), and I’ve recently learned how to get better use out of the software ‘gain’ and ‘EQ’ .. It’s all a big a$$ happy learning curve ๐

Memberall started with whatever was supplied with BCD2000 & I also had a little rub with VDJ back in the day when I was purely & occasionally messing about at my mate’s studio; then Traktor Studio came along where I’ve remained since 01/10 with the extended loan of BCD2000. .. Why did I switch? my mate convinced me that Traktor was the industry’s standard for Digital and I believed him since I had no prior knowledge of any form of DJing.

MemberI’ve been using Traktor Studio + BCD2000 since Jan 2010. I installed VDJ Pro yesterday but the skins at my disposal didn’t sit right on my tiny 10.2″ netbook screen – I also sensed it would take a few weeks to get used to the different mapping (or just change the mapping to match TDJS+BCD2k). I’ve tried Traktor Pro and have the same issues with it not fitting on my netbook screen. I think I’ll be sticking with Traktor Studio until can afford to upgrade my DJing laptop, controller & software at the same time. It will be Traktor as my primary software whatever happens; but I’d install others to gain familiarity if it were cost effective to do so
