ParticipantMy picks for this week:
Supermax Love Machine (1977)
This was a big disco hit in the german speaking countries and rightly so.
The Band Supermax was an Austrian/German project.
“Supermax toured as the first mixed-race band through South Africa. Despite warnings and death threats, they finished the tour, but this made some countries refuse permits for entry, and consequently the group was black-listed by some political organizations.”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aGPvMUBySD0
From Switzerland one of the (still) most inovatives Bands ever:
Yello
From 1979 their first big Hit:
Bostichand another awesome track from those swiss masterminds:
Yello On track (Doug Laurent´s first Journey) (1992)

ParticipantOk, I got another one. It was one of my ‘secret weapons’ back in the 80s and it always worked. The crowd went crazy.
But I have to warn you. Very explicit language is used.Gerd Bauersfeld
ParticipantIn the early 80s a suprisingly slow beat became a mega banger in the clubs (called discotheques back then).
Its an all time classic and still give me goosebumps when played on an high quality PA.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_ICsYzoWbk
Another classic from the early 90s with those lyrics that stick with me forever
“The judgment: if it were to fall upon you today which flower would you be The Red Rose or The Black This is the warning”Gerd Bauersfeld

Those two really different LPs really shaped my musical taste til today. So my 2 classics for today are:
From Kraftwerk (not from Autobahn, from a later LP) one of the most sampled themes ever:
