ParticipantThanks,
yes that is definately something I need to do as could have been a lot worse lolGavin J
ParticipantYea I can see why people have the impression that cdjs are ‘pro’ or ‘proper’ djing but I think this is more of a visual aspect as the reality is controller/software opens up so many more options.
I started with vinyl, then cds, next was DVS so to me the next logical step was a controller as upgrading my cdjs wouldnt have felt like I was going forward.Im very new to the controller world but I can honestly say I cant see myself going back to a cdj set up again.

ParticipantYes im using windows, Very strange, at least I can get around it so no real issue I guess, just takes an couple of minutes extra,
ThanksGavin J
ParticipantYea does feel very good considering the price, got a gig this saturday so will give it a decent test then. Will have a look at the videos to check the abuse they can take,
CheersGavin J
ParticipantYes I had just read the bit about it on here, will definatley keep my eyes on that as looks very interesting, and yes I am sure I will want to expand once ive got used to this,
Thanks once again

ParticipantPretty obvious solutuion really, I guess I was trying to over complicate it.
Thanks very much Terry, I shall get upgrading

ParticipantThanks Terry,
Yes I have seen the bigger ones have the extra inputs, not having these is my biggest concern.
I haven’t heard of a faderfox but I guess any cheap small mixer would be along the same idea?Gavin J
ParticipantI play in a lot of high street venues (yates style) so usually have to keep it quite commercial, especially at the start of the night. I use dj city record pool as I find this has a lot of good remixes and edits of chart/commercial tracks that are very good for this

ParticipantYea I totally know what you mean. On realistic terms I also like the SR, much better size (and price). I need to modernize my set up so may end up with this. I havent looked too much beyond Pioneer as I have been used to them for so many years, maybe I need to lift the blinkers and see what other options are out there

ParticipantTerry, I wasnt aware of Serato DJ doing that, thanks, will have to look into that as I will be upgrading to that soon (from ssl) and I am much more in favour of sticking to Serato.
Santa Creek, As much as I do like the SZ, its well out of my budget, its good to dream though lol

ParticipantI saw judge jules play a funky set with a saxaphone player about 10 years ago and it was amazing, they were completley in tune with eachother and jules would cut the music, the sax would carry on the tune and then the beat was put back in and was in perfect sync. . .
I have also heard people on bongo drums just beating the hell out of them with no clue as to what rhthym they are supposed to have. . .in this case I would totally agree with youGavin J
ParticipantLike the sound of this, would def be up for it.

ParticipantDone mate, Good luck, Hopefully I will see you there
