Defiantly agree with above, visit a store and try them out. It’s very much a personal choice here. I use the Sennheiser HD 25-II

Great thread, I have used it too create DJ mixes which was fun but time consuming. But like you would be interested in people’s views on using it as DJ tool.

I don’t buy MP3’s, don’t see the point, especially the 256k they sell on iTunes. Surely with today’s bandwidth we should settle on FLAC at least.

Anyone have any thoughts on Mixvibes Cross?. I tried demos of Traktor and Mixvibes and found the interface of Mixvibes better. I cannot justify the cost of Serato as a solution.

I just need to import my tunes and have a better look.

    Hi

I’ve used mixed in key for years now, I have done loads of mixes with it and yes they sound good.

However I never buy tracks by key, I only ever buy tunes I really like and just use my collection to get through, don’t forget you have the ability to energy boost so you don’t always have to go up or down one notch.

Do you DJ at clubs, do you get booked to play a certain genre? personally I am bored stiff of the genre trap and try to buy variety, again this can help.

Also being a radio DJ as well I don’t have to always mix tunes, I can just play from a beginning and get to play a wider choice.

Ultimately do you own thing and trust your ears, the trap with mixed in key is you can forget how to mix by ear.

I’d be using two Pioneer CDJ 1000’s so loads of inputs are not needed. I was tempted by Traktor scratch but to be honest felt the Mixvibes interface was better.
