Cheers Phil – those parties were some of the best – with Tomlin and the Jam MCs. Lots of interesting characters around and about too. Keep up the good work on the site, I’ve found it invaluable for getting started.

Any tips of getting feedback on the forums – looking at the mixes posted a high proportion don’t get any replies? I guess partially because there is so much good pre-filtered music out there people don’t have the time. That said I’m setting myself a target to provide feedback on two mixes by the end of the week.

I’ve just done this mix Free Music Friday Collection Feb 2012 using tracks from the guys at “Dog & Pony” Free Music Fridays: 2/24/12 is this weeks instalment.

LL thanks for the feedback this is the first I’ve had thanks for listening to it all the way through. Some really good learning points for me that I will follow up on. I did restrict myself to the tracks discussed in the interview. But I could have been clearer in what I was aiming for was it a consistent club mix or a compilation CD. Rootsie and Boopsie was listed as a balearic mistake record in the interview I think I should have edited it before including and binned if it didn’t work.

I definitely hear what you are saying about improving the transitions practice, practice I guess on the few mixes I’ve done the later transitions sound better, maybe I’ve stopped trying so hard by then. I have seen a few articles on harmonius mixing.
I do listen to a lot of mixes but I probably don’t “listen out” for things in the mix.

Thanks again for taking the time and providing honest feedback
