    New pics. Got everything on an IKEA expedit with vika amon table top now and it’s sooooo much more stable than my keyboard stand… Unsurprisingly.

    For your purposes I’d recommend serato scratch live, because it has all the features you’re looking for and not too many more. It’s totally solid, the timecode response is tight and the iTunes integration is top notch.

    Traktor Scratch Pro 2 would also do the job more than satisfactorily. I’d say one of those 2 without a shadow of a doubt.

    It’s been a while since I posted here! I’ve added a Xone: DB4, a flight case and stands for everything and some multi colour LED strips.

    and had a little jam sesh with a mate of mine

    The xone DX is ok, but the jogwheels are absolutely useless and it’s a little outdated.

    As far as ITCH samples are concerned, it has the same SP-6 sample player that scratch live has but none of the current ITCH controllers have buttons mapped for it (including the twitch), so it’s only useable with the keyboard. They’ve said that midi mapping for external controllers is on its way though (ie you could use a kontrol X1 or something).

    Personally I’d go for the S4 if you’re set on having 4 channels, or check out the new Vestax VCI-400.

    I reckon the easiest genre to mix is the kind of generic house remixes of top 40 songs, since they always have a very similar 4/4 kick snare pattern and breakdowns that can virtually be mixed without EQs. After that come other types of house music around 128bpm, then probably dubstep for me.

    I can’t mix hip hop to save my life.

    agreed. Didn’t see any beatmatching or anything. That said, big ups to them for playing cafe mambo and pumping up a crowd at the age of 13!

    IMO you’d be better off waiting until you can afford a mixtrack pro or similar, that’ll take you a long way and you won’t grow out of it as soon as you would with an e2.

    Thanks, I just prefer them that way, and I use dicers which sit at the back in regular position.

    I’d like to get black skins for mine, everything else DJ related I own is black (basically) including the flightcase that’s on the way, the DJM-800, the VCI, the X1, the Twitch…

    I fly kites when I can. I have a Flexifoil Rage 2.5 and a Blade 4.9, youtube the latter for some nice videos of people faceplanting into sand dunes 😀
