Thanks for all the tips everyone!
Last time I only had posters, so I couldn’t really hand out anything. I’ll shrink the poster and hand that out;
maybe add a QR code and link it to a mix and facebook page.
We slipped on the photography aspect, definitely going to try and fix that this time.
The cover is relatively cheap but we can’t get drink specials.

Book multiple DJs if you are gonna be doing a whole night have 4 DJs…and spend a little money on booking a DJ that is rather popular in your city…not a big headliner but like a big local DJ…
Go out and actually meet people, find other local nights with local djs and chat them up. Facebook although is a great social networking site…its like the new Spam mail of the internet…everyone gets hundreds of invites with tons of HEY SUPPORT ME! messages…and frankly no one gives a shit
We got a well known local dj to headline this month. If I coul I’d go out more and network with other djs and people at club nights but I can only go out during the weekends because I work overnight during the week. I hate spammers, I give reminders but I don’t spam people.
Thanks D-Jam, I’ve read your guides when you first posted them, and re-read a few weeks prior to our last event.
@ Spektakx, Our event is in a good part of town, its hip and has lots of culture and young people. We’re not trying to throw a dark basement vibe, the venue is small and intimate and its an open format party; Electro, dancehall, hiphop, Bmore club, indie dance…. just no top 40.
