When I started mixing it was with 2 standard single play CD players, with a mixer I bought at Radio Shack. Started mobile djing, upgraded eventually to a Numark system with a controller, pitch control, off of a 2 CD dock. Had to truly beat mix manually. Even had to mix with tape players cuz most of the musical library was on cassette. Had success for six years before I got sick of brides. Long story short, I wanted to have perfect mixes for my workouts and jacked a copy of VDJ. I’m not going to hide from it, think what you will. I knew how to mix without the software. Still do, however I found the 12 channel sampler to be helpful and creative. I do all my mixing now on the keyboard. I just know how and when to mix. I’ve played numerous musical instruments and understood how songs are written. So I started remixing pop songs using the 12 channel sampler and my computer as an instrument triggering samples and recording the result.

I’m not ashamed of how it happens and the results speak for themselves. I’ve archived close to 40 remixes using exclusively the 12 channel sampler and loops I had to research to make fit the mix and movements. Creativity comes in all forms and shades. To insist how it’s done and whether it’s credible is up to the listener. Ultimately yearn to upgrade to the Traktor S4 system with Maschine studio further down the line. Based on my current remixes and experience producing and performing, I can’t wait to take EDM to new levels of arrangement. The power to micro-manage every measure is endless in the EDM field due to the depth of the technology and ease of workflow compared to the days of programming every measure like with my first drum machine, Roland DR-5. Most dj’s do not know what a quarter or whole note is. I will never give up my 808 and 303 and will hook them into the back of my S4. Get a taste of the clubmixes VDJ is capable of on my Soundcloud site at soundcloud.com/frank-no-more. I now provide DJ’s with downloadable and unique versions of tracks with a punch in the chest. Just sayin’, things are not always as they seem. You would never tell the difference between Reason or Pro tools or VDJ. Respectfully yours…

Frank-No-More.. Sorry for the shameless self promotion but you might find something useful for your own sets. That’s what they are for…

I’d say he was having the luckiest night ever!!!….. Recently, I played a local bar last time out and technically mixed my ass off. Nuttin’ but crickets and requests for nothing but hair cut bands from the 80’s and 90’s. OMG, I suddenly was reminded why I stopped djing in the first place. I tried bring a downtown club atmosphere to the burbs to no avail. Despite the sweet blends. Anyhoo.. I’ll bet sooner or later that is not gonna fly with a more eclectic crowd another gig for the dude your talking about. Again, luckiest dj ever. Repeating tracks however it totally dirty pool. Or bad form. Thus, technically a craptacular dj. Don’t feel slighted or surprised at all. There are sheep everywhere.

Yeah, ya know it’s bad. Although I am surprised and intrigued by the depth of terminology in what they said. So it seems the authorities have dealt with this before. Think about it, the boardwalk could literally turn into a huge non-stop rave atmosphere. A huge cacophony of hundreds of sound systems competing for attention. Might lessen an experience of a nice walk or something like that. I don’t agree but still I can kinda see where their coming from. It is bad you cant express yourself with the technology cuz it sounds tip top and cooo… You’ll just have to try and find another venue, again bad. Solidarity bro and let your freak flag fly whenever and wherever you can.

    Edited for bad words…. WARNING

What’s wrong with the one your using right now? Just make sure its unique enough cuz there could be hundreds of same names on a search site. Makes it easier to single out yourself if you build a website or post mixes on SouldCloud or something. Getting a unique domain name. Hope this makes sense. Frank-No-More…
