ParticipantVery interesting topic. I will have my first, small gig in one month so I’m very curious about hints how to get people on the dancefloor.

ParticipantSoundCloud is mainly for songs, it’s a know issue that they are deleting mixes from time to time. You can use one of the following sites to post your mixes:

ParticipantDo you have an example for cheaper alternatives? I’m looking for sth like an Audio 8 or Audio 10, wich has at least 3 (stereo) outputs and at least 2 inputs. A mic preamp would also help.

ParticipantA DJ and a bad musician are a complete mood-killer, I totally agree with you.
But there are quite a few combos out there, which I enjoy watchin every time. My favorites are Goldfish and AKA AKA feat. Thalstroem. Seen only the last on live though. Yet… 😉

ParticipantEDM (not EMD 😉 ) stands for Electronic Dance Music.

ParticipantSounds awesome, congratulations! And I very much like your attitude “being paid for having fun”, what could be better than that…? 🙂

Nobody would’ve guessed that… 😉

ParticipantI mostly agree with what you already said, but I want to add one point for consideration.
Where do you wanna go?
1. You do this whole stuff for fun, for refinancing your equipment, for being part of something. Then being fair and polite would be the right way for you.
2. You do this for a living and you want to be the next Armin van Buuren ;). In this case it’s getting tricky. On the one hande you can’t ignore your collegues but on the other hand you won’t be successfull just being nice. At least it’s highly unlikely. You have to advertise yourself strongly and this could include going all in. In this case it’s just business and business is never fair. Maybe to a certain point but when (lots of) money comes into play you should be prepared putting Mr. Nice Guy aside.

ParticipantLuck. This comes in handy from time to time 😉

ParticipantAbout three decades ago I emigrated from Poland, so the name’s not typical German. It’s “Zbigniew” by the way, maybe I should’ve writen down that in the first place. Have fun trying 😉
