MemberI’v just come out of my ‘Hey, doing a backspin sounds good to get out of any bad mix’ phase.
Unfortunately wandered straight into the ‘just filter everything’.
Currently doing a smooth transition to the ‘Echo sounds cool all the time’.
But seriously, it sounds ok, but is usually my get out of jail free card / lets change the tempo (a lot)

MemberMy worst by far was getting my wrist slapped by the owner of the boat party I was doing, because I refused to play “who let the dogs out”. They asked me to play the next week but I kindly declined.

MemberThat’s the conclusion I’d come to unfortunately. Was hoping someone might have come across something. Ah well, was worth a try.

MemberWhat is the sturdiness like? Would it work if it wasnt against a wall?
Looks good, but none of the Ikea links work.

Sorry i’m bored, but also interested if anyone has any good ideas for this?
I suppose an iPad and Djay plugged into a small speaker could work. Splitter cable for cueing. That MiniRig speaker Phil Reviewed also looks decent.

MemberWhen you move something on the s2 does the CNTRL light at the top in Traktor light up?
Have you gone through the setup wizard selecting Traktor s2?Ess Jay
MemberIn my bedroom and online sets I can get bored in downtime and start messing around with stuff I shouldn’t, but when playing live, there are constantly people annoying me or talking to me (often the same thing) that I end up not having enough time, and on occasion (although I try not to), I end up pretending to do stuff, just so people think I’m busy and leave me alone. Sometimes it’s just beat matching something I’m not even planning on bringing in.

MemberI can hear a little difference, but generally the systems I play on aren’t good enough to tell a big difference, so Mp3 (not 128) seems fine to me

MemberEnjoyed it, only just getting into production myself so have no real criticisms

MemberIf I remember correctly from a previous article, it is actually less powered amps that cause speakers to blow, as you have to push them more…
Don’t quote me on this, but remember reading this somewhere.

MemberSomething I like to do is if you are playing a song you like, but they dont, and there are limited words they can sing along to, find an acapella, or just some bare vocals from a top 40 track and tease them with it. Anything they recognising will keep their attention, even if it is a few “Yeahs” from Rihanna. Then be nice and maybe play that song next

MemberIv heard people using a splitter and stereo output to send master to the speakers to one side, and cue to the other side to your headphones

MemberLuckily for me there were things going on in between each DJ, so I didn’t have to mix into anything of theirs. Iv never at a gig before had to mix into a previous DJ, so I can offer very little help in this respect.

MemberJust started (2 days ago) having a go at producing music.
Finding the whole lay out and synths unbelievably confusing.
Any tips to help with it all? Or is it just time served. I am doing the OD course, but making my way through it slowly.I have a background on drums, guitar and piano / keyboard.
Is there a good piece of hardware to make things easier? As the trackpad on a MacBook isn’t the easiest thing to work with -
