MemberThe Numark NS7 II is pretty much amazing for me. Motorized platters, and everything else you could ever want.
Just would have to be a Traktor one, with sctratch certification. Adding TT’s would be nice.

MemberHe has asked me to mainly play underground french Hip-hop.
As struggling to locate decent popular french hip hop, anyone any idea where I might come across some underground?

MemberDelay, filter, and beatmasher (sorry but people love it) are the ones I use mainly. Sometimes reverb and very very occasionally gater

MemberI agree with you Menno. Absolutely love some songs just to listen to, but if they aren’t the right BPM or aren’t DJ friendly, il tend to shy away from them in traktor. Trying to get over this, and song selection is more important than mixing, but still hate doing a bad transition even if it is a great song

Membera reloop digital jockey bag. Have to squeeze my s2 in though as it is slightly bigger than the DJ3. Also fits 15″ laptop, cables, headphones and F1

I was exactly the same, “if it isn’t played live on instruments, and there is no singing, it’s not music”.

MemberI have pretty much the exact same story as you – mixtrack pro, got hooked, wanted upgrade – except im over at Durham Uni.
I got an s2 and havn’t regretted it, if you are using traktor it is perfect. Shop in newcastle do 5-10% student discount too.
If you are serato, the reloop TM4 looks good

MemberHey mate, I have an s2 because I prefer traktor and love it.
However I would have jumped on the TM4 if it wasn’t serato, so If serato is for you then that is a great choice. Both good controllers, you won’t go wrong either way

MemberSimilar lessons learned to me, glad if went well

MemberI have found this, but I take quant off when I trigger a. Sound, so it is pretty much on the beat, then nudge my track decks to get it perfect. Taken phase metre off as it annoys me, but always leave sync on remix deck, and it works fine

MemberMixed in key I have found to be really great, however I can’t comment on iPad integration. All the keys show up in iTunes, so I expect it will be fine

MemberCheers man, I actually did have a cheeky look at those. Mad jealous of the sub

MemberI started simple on a Mixtrack Pro, and outgrew it after about 6 months.
I then got a Reloop 4 Deck controller, and liked it, although I was trying to play around with too many things, and lots of the options were still quite overwhelming to me.
I then got an s2 and love it.
I also considered the s4, but you need to take into account that the s4 is now quite an old model, and how much longer will it be before NI do an updated version? Which will reduce the resale value of an s4 massively. Just another thing to consider.

MemberGutted I’m across the pond. Good luck anyway, sounds like a great event.

MemberA bit more background would be useful for help. Do you play out? Stay in bedroom? What music?
If you want a controller though, check out the controller guide on this site. Pretty complete
