MemberNot directly from a gig, but I was chatting to my grandad who’s 80 about me getting into DJing, and he said one of his friends sons used to do some and I should meet him. Turns out he was actually a big producer a while back, and now has his own record label.
Walked away from a meeting with my grandads friend with a copy of Ableton and a midi keyboard.

MemberI never saw the argument against using sync, before I bought some crappy TT’s and tried mixing vinyl.
God I am back at square 1.
And yes I am from a drumming back ground, and still find it hard when the needle jumps, and the tracks aren’t a constant Bpm.
But to be honest, my mixing sounds much better using my s2 and (not using the button) but visually adjusting the tempo faders so the numbers match, in essence syncing.

MemberTM4, or if you fancy changing software, the DDJ-SX looks amazing

Member+1 terminal mix if you are happy with serato.
I had exactly the same decision as you a few months back, and went for the Traktor S2 cos im a traktor boy.

MemberHave a look at reloop TM4. My only regret.

MemberPicked up 2 Numark TT1650s, a numark mixer, and 100 vinyl for £90 today. Hopefully will like them, and if not I am sure I wont lose too much on them

MemberAh gutted, you may be able to pick a cheap one up second hand? But I’m sure the VMS 2 is really good anyway. Just read phils reviews on all the controllers.
Ha yeah, that is because I phrased it like an illiterate 4 year old.

MemberI started on mixtrack pro 1, and absolutely loved it. Also a fan of reloops stuff and the beatmix seems quality for the money.

Feeling good about your gear I think will take you a long way. Nothing like buying something while in the back of your head you really wanted something else.
This is massive. If you are itching to use it and can’t wait to spend a whole load of time on it, it could be an iphone app and you will improve quickly

MemberI do normal gigs at clubs and college events, but don’t really know how to get into Mobile and Wedding stuff

Memberyou could map 4 buttons on the MC6000 to trigger the samples? I think….

MemberIf its a party and I am also having a (fair) few drinks, then I wont charge, and il generally be given free drink for the night, as I know my skill level isnt great once I have had too much
Ess Jay
MemberMixtrack pro, or reloop would be my suggestion. Great controllers (having had both) and if I was serato I would be all over the reloop TM 4! But start off with something cheapish, just to make sure djing is for you. Nothing worse than spending a lot of money on something you never use

MemberRight click and A-analyse is the option to analyse all your tracks at once. Takes an age though

MemberSeriously hostile. Seems like a very exclusive event. I suppose it is the easiest way to stop it getting shut down
