MemberI love the S2 and F1 combo because I can either play in a very intuitive simple style with Traktor, or use crazy mappings and spice things up.

MemberLove it

MemberAs far as your question goes on the other forum (cba to answer on both).
The MF pro doesnt have control of remix decks, where as the Spectra and 3D do

Although in future just click “blog” in top left hand corner

MemberF1 is best thing hands down for full control of the remix decks.
Just triggering samples, Akai lpd8 will do the job and is cheap. Look at the blog here though, there has been a recent article on your exact question.

MemberRoy, i feel like you may need another screen 🙂
Ess Jay
MemberAlso what is your budget?
Ess Jay
MemberCan’t believe someone hasn’t recommended it yet (or maybe Im half asleep) but what about the Pioneer DDJ-SX?
To me it is the closest digital setup up to 2 CDJ’s and a Mixer, and is cheaper, looks good, and also works as a standalone mixer?
If I suddenly got a lot of money in my pocket I would get this. If you use it like CDJ’s and mixer, then you will be prepared for a club situation only having to take a couple of memory sticks.

MemberIf Candyman wants to control the remix decks, the f1 is a far superior choice to the MF.
The MF isnt velocity sensitive either, and has far fewer controls to map.
However, I own an F1 (which I used to hate, but now love) but I also am picking up a MFS soon because I think they just look so good, but wont use it for remix decks very much.

MemberTo control the remix decks, F1 without a doubt.
The 4 faders and knobs are crucial as I am constantly altering the volume and filtering of each clip, and the other buttons are vital too.
For finger drumming, definitely MF
Ess Jay
MemberIt all depends what you are looking for.
Complete control over 2 remix decks? 2 F1’s
1 remix deck and 1 FX unit, then probably X1 F1.
Although I currently use my F1 for 1 remix deck, and also to control effects (and even a 3rd deck with transport controls and EQ’s sometimes) although had to get dirty with mappings.
So it depends what you are looking to get out of your unit

MemberThe main thing the s4 is missing (someone can correct me if this isnt right) is booth outs.
I have booth outs and not used them once, but then again I don’t play in massive clubs.Ess Jay
MemberAre you using anything else?
Is this to compliment your S4?
Ess Jay
MemberIf I am not mistaken, the S4 has more buttons and knobs than the Z2 so should be absolutely fine. Only thing you need to watch out for is that it has a large footprint, so If the booth is lacking in space you may struggle.
(Think I have understood the question correctly but if not sorry)
