What equipment are you using? The more information about you, the more we can help.

This is an article on 5 ways to mix between large tempo changes.

The phrasing issues you talk about, what exactly are you struggling with?

In theory you can carry on Djing just using the Audio 4, Traktor and your X1.

The main level knob should work… Should.

When I play itunes through my laptop with my S2, nothing works except the main level knob.

Joining in on this thread. Could I use an Audio 2 to route 2 channels from Traktor into 2 channels on a hardware mixer and mix externally?

Thanks very much, that is really sound advice. Yeah my french is limited, but I know enough vocab to have a relatively coherent (if not grammatically correct) conversation.

None of the bars currently have a DJ, or really much music playing at all, so this would be a new thing for them. And they are definitely talking bars. So my music would have to fit into the background with the head nodding / feet tapping effect.

I am currently out in france now for a few days, so gonna get a french CV written up, and try and see if any bars are interested.

Surely just a whole set of Daft Punk would suffice. 🙂

Thanks very much for both your input. The most likely case is that I would be playing deep house and lounge music in a bar as back ground music.

I think offering a freebie isn’t a bad idea, because then next time, both you and the owner will have a decent idea of what you are worth.

My first paying gig, was £20 for an hour, and I felt embarrassed taking the money, cos I didn’t feel I was worth it.
Now I accept more, and feel that I earn every pound.

It can still be useful. If you wanted to DJ just using 1 or 2 F1’s, and leave your S4 at home, then you would need the Audio 2 to cue in your headphones
