I know the feeling. I got booked for my first proper paid night and ‘trial’ for a residency along with a few other Dj’s that week in Durham, and it nailed it down with snow, and the club closed for my night and I didnt get another chance.

All my gigs come from friends events, and college events at uni. Just keep networking and eventually something will open up. I play a boat party every so often which just came from me chatting to the guy who usually DJ’s and one night he couldnt do it so sent me a text

DJ3 ME arrived yesterday, spent an absolute age trying to update the firmware (which I still havn’t), and mapping it is fine, apart from the jog wheels dont do spin back, which I am working on. But the mapping on reloops website, only works with the updated firmware. Which is annoying.

Looking forward to getting into it and using all its functions.

Cheers for the help, it just looks so much better than my mixtrack pro, so wont get laughed at when I turn up now.

Thanks very much, genuinely appreciate you taking time out to have a listen.

I agree with your comments to be honest. The programming I know was very poor, but that was due to I didnt really listen properly to the songs before I played them. I downloaded a group of new tunes I had been looking through, and was looking forward to mixing them, so just went straight on mixify and had a live hour of playing through. Needed longer listening to them properly to decide exactly what order for them to go in. Also had 0 listeners near the end, so got chatting to my house mate and did an awful transition (into Thriller I think), just cos I wasn’t fully concentrating.

I never saw this as an issue, until listening to it after reading your comments. I am still fairly new to DJing and none of my friends do it, so I appreciate your feedback massively.

Enjoyed it, don’t play much techno music myself so as far as criticism goes I don’t really have any. Keep it up.

Times change. Just because you spend more on something, does not make it necessarily better. Buying more expensive songs, for no justifiable reason other than to say “I pay more for my songs” makes no sense to me. For the vast majority of people, money is not an endless quantity, so people save where they can… Or is it just me that sees the sense in that?

Worked well with traktor, I remapped the EQ kill buttons, to trigger samples (3 for each deck), also created a shift function so they could trigger cue points too. Never actually used the loop recorder. I had a load of fun mapping different buttons and knobs to different functions, but obviously not as good as the S2, but less than half the price, and will allow you to try all the software and make an informed decision.

Also because its such a popular controller, there are loads of pre-made mappings on the internet for the Mixtrack pro, but the default one for traktor is basic but tight

Iv been following the S2 on eBay for a bit, and you can pick a 2nd hand one up for between 250-300. That way, if it isn’t for you, you can sell it on for virtually no loss in the near future. Lots also come with a legal version of traktor pro 2. I started on mixtrack pro, which comes with both traktor and serato, and is £150 new. A cracking machine which allowed me to try out all softwares and make an informed decision, and also play a few gigs on it and make connections in dj world.

I guess il just have to wait and see. The seller had 100% positive feedback, so gave me a bit of confidence.
    Fingers crossed hey.

Just bought a 2nd handed reloop DJ3 ME and an official reloop bag for £270.
Really excited for it to arrive, but also nervous about buying 2nd hand.

I am in a similar boat, but Upsizing from a Mixtrack Pro, so going the opposite way, would be interesting to hear peoples responses

Im swaying towards the DJ3, but its older, so will keep its value less than the TM4 I imagine.

But I hate the Serato branding all over the TM4

I already have Traktor Pro so it isnt an issue, but if it was you, would you go for the DJ3 or the TM4? Imagining you were a Traktor only DJ.

    Both are around £400
