It is wrong in 99% of all songs and in all songs that has not constant BPM or a change in tempo
it is not posiible to beatgrid at all.
That makes it very time consuming as you have to buy a copy of Ableton Live to get all tunes in constant BPM.
I suppose that it was the same with T1 (I never used it)
But there must be a way to improve the analysis of the beatgrid……..Otherwise I second Papa Bears statement above.
Agree 100% with you Hessler they may as well not even have a beatgrid, it is always wrong and “off beat”.
The other thing I hate is the “gain” or “autogain” .. totally useless !

It is perfect for getting out of trouble if you are struggling to perfectly beat-match two tracks and need to move on to the next tune. Just hit echo-out and then cut / drop in the next tune and move on. It has long been my go-to effect to prevent a ‘train wreck’ blend.
That is a very good tip also-ran ! I’d never actually used it but gave it a go after reading your suggestion and it
works really well …thanks !eros
MemberI also rate the Yamaha HS 50M as an alternative to the KRK’s

Member@Haroon K: Mate I have many times ! One of my all time favourite films 🙂 Its how I learnt to beatmatch ! (joke)
@D-Jam: Thanks again, your advice is always gold !

MemberWell since you like the CDJ look and feel and you want to be “artistic in mixing” , then I suggest that a 4 channel mixer would suit you better than a 2 and give you separate EQ’s for C & D decks whether you’re using them as sample or track decks. This will give you some added flexibility and control, especially if you’re doing mashups etc (which I’m guessing you are). From everything you have said I’d say the controller for you is the DDJ-T1.

MemberI know its a surprise and not to be a downer on the thread, but there’s no substitute for trying them on purely from a comfort point of view if nothing else. The reason I say this is because like you I’m an avid researcher, before I buy anything I will read all the reviews and blogs etc. When I was buying my headphones I was convinced I wanted the Aiaiai TMA-1s and found them for a good price, only problem was that after 5 mins I couldn’t stand them on my head so opted for something else. Just a point to consider.

Thanks again for the info mate…always enlightening !! Let us know how you get on with configuring the DJM-900 to Traktor and the new mapping..I’ll be looking out for it.December 15, 2011 at 2:34 pm in reply to: Zomo MC-1000 finally released. 12" Controller for Traktor / Virtual #11488eros
MemberHey RealRasputin. I’m well thanks mate, managed to get a few demos out recently hoping to land a regular gig. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to get the MC-1000 yet so I’m still just using my controller but wow you have my dream set up with that and the DJM-900 so its great to hear your views on it !! That set up is just insane, I mean like you said, all the features of Traktor plus the Beat Effects and X-Pad of the DJM-900 not to mention the six Sound Color Fx as well !! I don’t think I’d ever leave the house !!
Just a question with the Beat Effects..do they sync & quantise automatically to the BPM of the track you load off Traktor or do you have to set the BPM yourself ? I’d love to hear more of your experience plus any quirks or limitations etc that you’ve found as hopefully I’ll soon join you with that set up.
Cheers mate..
