I always play my mixes live. I tried once to make the same thing in ableton but honestly it took longer time than to do it in traktor and at the end it didnt feel right so I skipped it.
It was my first longer (1 hour) set ever so I told myself it’s more safe to that way than the live way.
Honestly I rather re-start a recording if I fail big time than make the whole set in ableton.
Nowadays if/when I make a bigger mistake during recording I pause for a sec and do it again and later I can delete the unwanted places in ableton.
If it’s minor things like sudden volume thing or something like that, I let them go…after all, it’s live.

In the beginning I could use 6-7 cue points. When I bought my S2 I forced myself to use only max 4!
So nowdays I use the following setup for cue points:
#1 where I want the track to start from (doesnt need to be the very beginning of the track)
#2 is somewhere in the midle (can be in a spot there I can jump in case I’m out of time and want to speed up to the end)
#3 spot there I want to jump to get to the end or the place there I start mix out the song
#4 is always a simple loop
#5-#8 sometimes I use as a marker only. Like if I want to mark in the track a place there vocal starts or bring attention to a good spot and so on.

I agree. 15-30 mins is more suitable if you want ppl to actually listen to more than 1-2 mixes.

I’ve got Icecast activated on my mixify account. I’m looking forward to use it during the B2B event!

Cool idea. But if I recall correct there is such site out there actually.
I dont have access to my bookmarks atm but when I get home I’ll check it.
Dunno the rules there but it’s a duel style for djs.

Yes, you are 100% correct. I’ve fixed a new slot for 23rd with own mixify account and B2B logo. So whoever talk with the mixify guy, pls mention it to him. Thanks
I’m gonna have a 3 hours marathon with video streaming. First my web radio show and then B2B event and finally finishing with 1 hour for fun and all gonna be streamed on mydjtube.com and ernom.net

Basically, this means on the “B2B Sundays” we can all DJ on our own accounts and still be under the ‘B2B’ brand if you would. This would be a great way to get our own Mixify pages off the ground while still making the B2B name known. Let me know if this is an idea you’d be interested in, so I can relay it back to him and he can set it up.

Also, any ideas you guys have for the site, hit me up and I’ll let him know too, they really do appreciate all feedback they get and try to fit the site around everyone’s liking.

So we gonna go after this or still post as last week?

I’m up for it this Sunday. Unless we all gonna join and cheer for Si Boogie on his birthday marathon. 🙂
My biggest issue with mixify is simply the missing of metadata presentation.
I’ve noticed that something wasnt 100% with the site. First my disconnect in beginning of my set and after the finish it didnt want to let me publish the mix.

I’ve been looking around for long time on different forums (even here) for tips how to organize my collection. Honestly it’s pretty much different answer every person you ask. So it’s ended up with something I made up on my own mixed with advice I’ve read (I think on DJTT).
    Genre/Track name/Artist are given ofc.
I used MIK on my collection first and added the key to the comment. Then I went through my collection and rated the songs for energy (1* for low energy, 3* for mid and 5* for high energy level), this is 100% individual as what I find low energy maybe is mid for someone else…but I’m gonna play my tracks so it’s for me only. The same time I made a note in the comment field after the key (added by MIK) is the song is I=instrumental, SV=semi-vocal, V=vocal. So comment field can be like “4A – SV”.
At the end I’ve sorted the tracks in 3 different directories depending on the 1-3-5* and done. if I want to see only a certain energy level tracks I open the directory in the browser in traktor. Sorting tracks in the collection by comment gonna give you tracks sorted by Key and I-V-SV within the same key.

After 25 years in the wonderful world of the computers few weeks ago I’ve got a Macbookpro.
Honestly bigger anti-apple person than me is hard to find but when I decided that I’m gonna move away from my desktop and make a dj stand and everything, I said “why not go on a huge trip at the same time?”.
25 years with DOS and Win…..25 years as computer programmer and tech……I am ashamed to say but hell I needed to google how the ***** find programs I’ve installed on this mac. It wasnt fun to be next to me for a few days cause I had a bad temper. 🙂
1 thing for sure: I can make things on this laptop that I cant on my desktop. Having my session broadcasted through camtwist to webpage, at the same time broadcasting the audio to a web radio and having 3 other programs open to send the metadata to twitter and the shoutcast server, recording the video in quicktime and recording the audio in traktor……and the cpu meter in traktor not even moves a milimeter (for US ppl…..milimeter is very-very little). My dekstop would have gone on strike since long time ago.
I still hate apple but I’m getting used to this laptop at least.
PS: if you switch to mac…dont be scared when things you take granted in windows actually cannot be done on mac without installing a program for it!
Ah and my Microsoft Lifecam works better with mac than a mac certified web cam….wonderful world of logic…isnt it? 🙂
