    Hello William :);
    Yes; the Best Advice here is Rob’s; where he suggests you could Start a Thread of your Own :);
    But I was wondering whether you mean The Best Song ‘You Have Done’; or The Best Song ‘You Like’ ?
    As Either would be Fine; as long as you make it Clear what the Thread is for in the First Post you write :);
    Such as;
    ‘This Thread is for us to Share Our Favourite Tracks from ‘Any Artist’; and Comments are Welcome πŸ™‚

    D-Jam, post: 2044 wrote: Been playing video games since PONG.

    In the past we had a few Pong setups, then an Atari 2600, then a C64, then Windows 3.1 and a PSOne, PS2, XBox. I also had a Nintendo DS Lite, but sold it and got a PSP, which I sold a year or so ago.

    As of now the only things I have to play games on is my PC and iPhone. PS3, Wii, and Xbox 360 just seem like too much of an investment of time and money for me. I do more internet/geek/DJ stuff more than I do video games. All I’ll really play anymore are some FPS games on the PC or a variety of games on the iPhone.

    We have the ‘Original Pong’ (still working) upstairs in its Box from the 60’s :);
    It seems Pointless selling it as someone will only try to Rip Us Off; and we are not that ‘Desperate’ :);
    FPS are my Favourite of All Games 😎

    None of my Business of course :);
    But I may as well ask (Disregarding Skype); why people’s Telephone Numbers are ‘Covered Up’; when this Forum could be an Excellent Opportunity for ‘Further Network Promotion’ (at No Cost) :);

    And about the main question, I sometimes use Audacity on GNU/Linux (specifically LMDE and Linux Mint).

    Although, have you tried Steinberg Wavelab? That’s some old and well down software. Another good option is Adobe Audition. Both are for Mac OS X and MS Windows

    Hello Irwin :);
    Yes; from what I have just seen at their Main Site; ‘T-Racks’ is a Mastering Suite as ‘Izotope Ozone 4’ is;
    I made my Decision on Ozone 4 after watching YouTube Videos Extensively (from Izotope); and listening to the Experience of Top DJ’s/Producers who use it (DJ Vespers and others); I feel it is the Same with All things really; that we ‘Get What We Pay For’; but I would ‘Expect’ that Cubase and Soundforge to have their ‘Own Mastering Facilities’ Within the Programme; as Ableton does;

    I don’t use Any of the above;
    I use Ableton 8 (due to its Mass of Options and Ease of Use); and I wouldn’t Change now I have made the ‘Swop’

    Dj Sterilize, post: 1397 wrote: What software do you all use to finalize your mixes/songs?? Also what OS are you running on?

    I’m currently on mac osx and have audacity but would like to get a program that’s a bit more “grown-up” lol like soundforge.

    I use Ableton 8 for my Music Editing/and DJ Mixing; and my OS is Windows 7;
    But for ‘Finalising’ my Mixes I will either ‘Master’ them myself; or use Izoptope Ozone 4

    Hello Jona; and Welcome :);
    I am Completely ‘Alone’ as a DJ; in the sense that ‘apart’ from this Forum; I have had No Contact with any other DJ for probably 7 years or more; other than Playing Out Live (which I am Unable to do at the moment); it is a Very Lonely Occupation; just as Writing was before I started DJ’ing; I can’t give you any ‘Pointers’ as to How you become Less Alone; other than reading the DDJT Articles about Networking;
    On the other hand; to be ‘Alone’ with your ‘Art’ can also be a Fabulous thing if you wish to Concentrate and Develop your ‘Own Style’ and ‘Techniques’; Collaborating or having a DJ Partnership with another person can be an amazing thing – look at Orbital/The Chemical Brothers/Underworld – but it can also be Non-Complimentary; in the sense that (at times) one or other person can become More Dominant and so your ‘Ideas’ are not ‘Heard’;

    DjSpekz, post: 1192 wrote: I have to say, I am guilty to say that I play out Djs remixes. Its not that I try to act like its mine its just that sometimes what ever that certain dj makes is just too insane not to play. The other reason I play another Djs mix is if its longer mix maybe 10-15 minutes and I do that just to relax after 3 or 4 hours at a gig. Anybody else do this?

    Hello my Friend :);
    It looks like you got a bit ‘Bashed’ here (or so it seems to me);
    But; there is an Alternative to when you say the other ‘DJ’s Mix is Too Insane Not to Play’;
    And that would be to find the Tracklist for that particular 15 minutes or so; get those Tracks; and them Mix them Yourself; as I am Sure you will be just as Capable as the DJ you are ‘Emulating’ into Creating this ‘Insane Mix’ yourself; and as it will have your ‘Personal Stamp’ on it; you could even make it ‘More Insane’ than the Original DJ ?
    I Feel this is Genuinely Possible; and will Boost Your Own Confidence Massively πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

    Thank You Jem :);
    Sometimes ‘Short Explanations’ don’t mean a lot;
    Such as trying to Describe a Personality Disorder to someone by saying it is a ‘Disorder of the Personality’;
    which means Nothing to me πŸ™‚

    U31, post: 1581 wrote: Emma, i have mates (Still vinyl junkies) that are FAR more technically adept then me, but they stress days before a gig right up up to the gig, practice, set lists, more practice more set list tweaking… even during the practice they wont drop a beat all night, yet they still stress about perfection.
    A few month back everyone played a club for a mates birthday, a very popular guy so everyone wanted to play, two rooms and more then enough DJ’s, when another mate rang and said he wished he could get a slot. I rang birthday boy and pleaded with him to sort something.
    A slot was eased in and he rang me to thank me, so i asked what set he planned…. Mate:” Oh nothing planed, just gonna bring my record bag and me” Me: “you are aware everyone else has been sweating over sets all month?” Mate: “No problem!”

    I swear on my life his was the best set of the night, and EVERYONE played an absolute blinder, played their heart out, his just had an extra spark… Dunno if if it was because i knew he was winging it or what, it was simply amazing!
    I have a recording of that set i can sendspace if anyone is interested πŸ˜‰

    I am Attempting to be ‘More Prepared’ now with my Radio Shows; so when the Hosts sends ‘The Message’ I have something for him; but I was a bit behind a couple of months ago; and spent 27 Hours Perfecting a 2 Hour Set !
    It was an Utter Nightmare; but it did come out ‘Perfect’ in the end;
    But I have a Second Soundcloud Account which is just for my Dubstep Mixes and Remixes (Reslices I call them :));
    And with these Mixes I just ‘Do them’; they are Always Great; but I give myself the Freedom to Express Myself (as I have Fun) πŸ™‚
    And Yes; I would like to hear that Set from the night your talk about πŸ™‚
