Next one I’m simply beginning it with “Set You Free” by N-Trance…just another look back to those wild days.
My First Ever Demo Cassette that went out Started with ‘N-Trance – Set You Free’ 🙂
An Ultimate Classic 😎Emma Partnow

I don’t consciously mix harmonically at the moment, just by what my ear tells me goes with what, but fancy trying the science.
Cheers for any feedback.

Hello Jem :);
Harmonic Mixing was an Absolute Revelation to me;
Until I read the Review on DDDT (The Second Review); I wasn’t interested in finding the Small Amount it Costs; and just Ignored the Possibility of what it could do for me;
Now; I Seriously Wouldn’t Be Without It;
Once I have Renamed my Tracks; before even Using them in any Software; I put the Tracks Through Miked In Key;
Beatmatching (or even just BPM Matching) is Cool; but there is No Way – unless you are prepared to sit down with a Keyboard on Every Track you Own to Work Out The Key; which I Definitely Wasn’t (even though I am Musically Trained – or at least my Certificate says so :)); but the Realisation that 2 Tracks will Actually Mix Together and you Never have to Worry about ‘Trainwrecking’ through ‘Key Clashes’ is like having your Eyes (Ears) Opened For The First Time; … How could I Possibly have Known that The Prodigy Mixes Harmonically with Ricky Martin ? (Just a Hypothetical Question); but to Know/Realise that they Do; is Nothing Short Of Amazing when you Hear it for the First Time; and so; although I use Mixed In Key as a ‘Guidline’; rather than a ‘Be All and End All’; the Concern/Worry about whether 2 Tracks will ‘Clash’ is Literally Gone Forever :cool:;
Our Ears Are Our Ultimate Tool Of Course; and so No Software is Perfect; but if Mixed In Key gets it Wrong in 1 out of 200 Attempts; that is Money Well Spent in my Book 🙂Emma Partnow

Working on Part 2.
How Come you Start your Rave Mixes Exactly the Same as I Do my Friend 🙂 🙂

I Imagine (Presume) you have a Mac as you have used Garageband;
But; if you have the Money Available; due to the Virtually Limitless Capabilities within Ableton Live Suite 8; I would have to Recommend Ableton over Pro-Tools; (Ableton is Available for Mac);
If you were talking about Ableton VS Logic; I would still Recommend Ableton; but it would be a Different Argument 🙂Emma Partnow
MemberMy Favourite DJ/Producer at this Moment is a German DJ called ‘DJ Clak’;
He Plays Jazz; Classical; Individual Mash-Ups; with Techno and House; and he is a Genius in My Eyes :cool:;

I will post on the blog as to my reasons and why I think this is the right thing to do, but just thought I’d let you know that I’ve done it, and I feel VERY good about it. 🙂
Very Much Looking Forward to this Article Phil :);
And the Answer to the Question I am going to ask will Hopefully be in the Article :);
If You (or Anyone Else) has 600 Tracks and play 3 Gigs a Week for 6 Months (even with the ‘One In – One Out System’; bearing in mind that we Can’t Possibly Find Great Tracks Every Day/Week to Replace the Tracks we have – unless we are Verging on the Top 40 DJ); Surely Our Sets would Begin to Sound ‘Familiar’ ?Emma Partnow
MemberAdam Sharizman, post: 1995 wrote: Hello, I’ve been into trance for a while now and I feel like I want to mix trance more. What are some tricks I could learn?
Hello Adam 🙂
I would look for Trance Sets by Big Artists on Soundcloud (there is a Group you can Join); and Listen and Listen to what they are doing; I Believe that Interviews (through Google) with these ‘Big Artists’ will also give you Information regarding their Techniques; which at this time are Obviously Working for Them 🙂Emma Partnow
MemberDJ Toto, post: 3030 wrote: I’ve seen a couple of articles on here and around the web about this, but I was wondering where the best place to get good quality and modern acapellas is. I’m not talking about Pump up the Jam or Daft Punk’s Technologic, I wanna know where people get their SHM, Calvin Harris, Eric Prydz, etc. acapellas. Free is a plus, but if I have to choose between quality and free, I’ll pay any day of the week.
Acapellas4U are the Best Free Site I have found; they have 1000,s and 1000,s; there is a Limit to how many you can download Per Month; but the Search Engine is Not Great; however; Browsing by Artist is Cool;
As Phil says; if you can Afford to Buy Them; you will Probably be able to get Exactly what you Want 🙂Emma Partnow
