    Thanks

    If you are playing a Track in one of the Decks and hear a Drum Loop that you like; or a Vocal Sample that is interesting; you can press the ‘4’ or ‘8’ (from my Memory); which will Loop 4 or 8 Bars of the Loop you like; you can then Save this Looping Sample into 1 of the 10 Sample Decks at the Bottom of the Screen;
    If you can’t see the Sampling Decks; there will be a ‘Show’ Option on one of the Drop Down Menus at the Top;

    The Host Attempted to Mix into my Last Track and TrainWrecked Twice !!! So Pulled Out 🙂

    Edit:
    Oh; he said it was Automated Random Music 🙂

    D-Jam, post: 3294 wrote: I think in this genre/scene, producing is the way in. You make tunes that people notice and like, then it helps you grow. I will tell anyone though to not be surprised if you grow, but notice your hometown doesn’t seem to be as into you as other places. That’s just how it goes. I know guys here in Chicago that play for thousands in a big event somewhere on the other side of the globe, but end up playing for 50-100 people at the most here in Chicago. If a massive happens they’re not even booked.

    Such is the way of things. My suggestion is to produce, maybe get involved in a notable online radio station, do a regular thing, build the following, and eventually someone outside of your neck of the woods will bring you out to play.

    I even suggest to many to use your vacations as opportunities to play. I think I’ll start another topic on this.

    Can’t Wait for your Topic on that Subject D-Jam 🙂
    And I Agree With You Completely; in some cases; unless you have people ‘Behind You’ you can be just ‘One’ in a Pile Of Available DJ’s’; Certainly in a Club or Promoters Point Of View; and so to get ‘Your Name Out There’ through Remixes; Productions (sometimes Different; sometimes Radical); and Radio Shows; will get you ‘Noticed’; and then your ‘Love’; be it DJ’ing can be Expressed and Accepted as you already have Established Yourself in another Area;
    Such as; and Please Don’t Shoot Me Down; as it is Only An Opinion; but Carl Cox is Accepted as One of the Greatest DJ’s of Our Time (30 Years); but his Own Productions are Awful ! – But there is a Market for his Own Productions;
    I have recently heard a Press Release from Our Promoter at TranceX Global Radio (Un-named Due to Anonymity); who tells us that the ‘Trance Scene’ in Toronto is Dead; just through Constant Exposure; and people became Bored;
    This is Quite A Big Thing to happen really as Trance has been Established Worldwide for So Long;
    So; when you say that DJ’s are Travelling from Chicago to play Large Audiences; but the Audience isn’t at ‘Home’; I am Happy to Accept that this could be ‘Of Relevance’ to Us All;
    Thank You for your Post 🙂

    Edit:
    Both my Permanent Residency at TranceX Radio; and my Guest Spot tonight (Right Now) for Calvin Karass; which is actually a Massive Spot as Barbara Tucker has played on this Show (and she is No Fool); Came Just From My Remixes On YouTube

I bought an interface today so I’m gonna get that happening tomorrow…thanks for your thoughts on pitch control and the human drumming, and its v cool that you master tracks for people all over the world.It sounds like you are dedicated, that is inspiring. Unfortunately, the guys in the dj store I went into to get my interface were a little bit too cool for school…I really hate that.

    Hello Lloyd 🙂
    My Show is on Tonight (Friday July 8th at 22:00 GMT); on http://radiofreebrighton.org.uk/
    Thank You for asking :);
    Yes; Unfortunately I have a Health Condition that keeps me at home Every Day (except for Hospital Appointments); and so my Life Revolves around Music now; and Luckily I was allowed to Master my First Track for a Rockabilly Band in my Step-Father’s Studio when I was just 9; so I have Built my Knowledge from there;
    It is a Great Shame you had to deal with ‘Big Heads’ in the Store today; if you have the facility to buy Online we found some Great Australian Shops Online for someone the other day here; so at least that would take the ‘Person to Person’ situation away; and Phil has Reviewed Virtually Every Kit Available so you could get a Review before you spent 🙂

    Xeva, post: 3228 wrote: I started on Fruityloops a long while ago, and now it’s been gaining a lot of popularity. Laidback Luke, Deadmau5, Afrojack, Madeon, & Arty are some of the big names that use(d) it. I think Deadmau5 & LBL uses Ableton now. Ableton and Apple’s Logic are the other monsters in the DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) world. Logic is used by Swedish House Mafia, Paul Van Dyk, & Ferry Corsten, that I know of. I assume Steinberg developed CuBase to compete with FL Studio, Logic, & the like. I’ve also heard a lot of good things with Propellerhead’s Reason, but have no experience with it. Although I have ProTools & Nuendo, I use them for sound design and post-production in film instead of music production. But that’s just me, since the EDM genre is more loop-based…

    My advice to you is to download some of the demo’s, check out videos on Youtube, and feel out which one suits you. Certain DAW’s do things better than others…I also suggest you learn more than one software.

    I have Reason 5 (and have been using it since Reason 2); and it is Fabulous for Composition; but for Production and Remixes I still Vote for Ableton; and there are No Facilities for DJ’ing with Reason; it also doesn’t Support VST’s;

    I sometimes have Difficulty ‘Beginning’ a Set that is to be Broadcast on International Radio; and Often forget to think of the ‘Mood’ I may be in (whether I have been Affected by the day etc); and so on ‘Occasions’ I think to myself ‘Okay; no problem; I will start in the middle); and although I can say that has been Successful on some Occasions; it is not always so; however; on the same hand I find that Beginning a Set at ‘Track 1’ leaves me the following day not feeling ‘Satisfied’ with how the Set was ‘Developing’; and end up Scrapping It and Beginning again; but this then leaves me in a ‘Trap’ of just getting ‘Stuck’; (I Practice; Record; Practice; Record; and then Play Live for the when the Set needs to go out);

    I Use Ableton Solely and I Agree; it is Amazing :); (even though I also have FL Studio 9); what VST’s are you using ?

    Xeva, post: 3219 wrote: I have a Zoom H1 recorder…so if you have a portable recorder handy, you can plug in the recorder via computer audiojack to the recorders’ line in jack, set the levels, then record away! It can record as much as your memory card has space. Another option is to wait a few days and hopefully someone else recorded the broadcast for you and you can download it from them. There are also a bunch of software options out there, but it can get rather sketchy…google away and see what you can find.

    Good luck!

    Hello Xeva :);
    Unfortunately I don’t have a Portable Player; but the idea of waiting a few days to see if the Host of the Radio Show puts it up on his SoundCloud Account is a Distinct Possibility; so that was a Great Suggestion; Thank You 🙂

    Newportdj Drew, post: 3232 wrote: audacity or any software recorder allows you to do this. But you have to map the source in your audio card options.

    U31, post: 3244 wrote: Another vote for audacity here

    Hello Drew and U31 :);
    Thank you Both for your Great Suggestion; I have investigated Audacity and read Loads about it this morning; and although I can get the ‘Stereo Mix’ (which on Audacity forums seems to be the Main Problem for people); up in my Audio Preferences; when I bring this ‘Audio’ into Audacity (even though I can see ‘Levels’); due to my Laptops Inadequacies; the Audio I do get is ‘Awful’; as if I was Recording from an External Source into my Microphone Socket; it is a Great Shame; but since my £3,000 Sony Vaio Died in January; I am on a £300 HP 🙁

    I have just had a good look at livestream.com and it looks Great; however; I can see a way of Broadcasting ‘Out’; which is an Amazing Tool that I would like to use; however; I am appearing Tonight on Radio Brighton as a Guest for Calvin Karass (my Biggest Break yet); and I wanted to Record the Show Onto my Laptop; but Thank You Very Much for your Suggestion as I do Need a way of Broadcasting Live to Canada in the next few months anyway 🙂
