    Thank You Everyone 🙂
    After spending an Hour on Traktor Pro 2 last night and still having No Idea ‘How’ to Set A Cue Point; or ‘Why’ when the Tracks were in Sync it was a Complete Traincrash All The Time; I went to bed wondering whether to even Open the Programme again; (as I have my 10 Decks on Ableton that I Know How To Use) 🙁

    I look on SoundCloud and sometimes see DJ Sets that have been Heard 30,000 Times and it Staggers Me 🙁
    I don’t know How you get That Well Known; unless you are On The Road all the time;
    The Only Challenge I see with MixCloud (which isn’t part of this Discussion) is that it Seems So Small 🙁

I know most people think of it as a production tool more than a DJing tool. After using Traktor for a couple of months already, I kinda had my mind set on using this as my DJ software. However, looking at that box today had me reconsidering this.

    Ableton is such an in-depth program. This is actually my biggest concern with it! The learning curve is such a huge worry for me. I remember using this program to produce and becoming frustrated after I saw little progress. I’m saving up to buy another Mac as my current one died on me a few months back and plan on installing it again. In the meantime I plan to skim through the manual to refresh a bit and see if this might actually be a possibility for me for both DJing and Production.

    Hello Mike 🙂
    As you know; whenever anyone mentions Ableton and DJ’ing I will Pop Up 😀
    From using Ableton as a Production Tool to Learning How to DJ with it (Ableton 8 Suite); took me about 4 Months;
    So; if you wish to Learn to DJ as I did; I have done a Lot of the Work for you (in Searching Out Tutorials); and Of Course will be Willing to Help You Too :);
    Some People use Session View for DJ’ing; Others will Use Arrangement View; whatever you Ultimately Choose makes No Difference as I Use Both; it just Depends What I am doing;
    For Starters; just to show you One Simple Way of DJ’ing in Ableton; I thought I would Attach a Video for you;
    This Definitely is Not The Only Way; but will give you Something To Practice Today If You Choose 🙂

    Cool :cool:;
    Thank You Very Much Hippie 🙂
    The System I Currently Use is Cool for just Searching for Individual Tracks; but in order for me to have them in Genres it means putting them in Folders; which is a Nuisance really; and I always did like the way that Traktor enabled me to enter More Information into the Comments Fields etc (I Installed it again last night); but I have to decide whether I just want to Analyse Tracks as I Practice Mixes; or wait the 3 Days for All my Tracks to be Analysed;
    Do you know if Traktor Creates Seperate Files for my Tracks; as I don’t really have a Great Deal of Space left (as Ableton has already built quite a Large Folder already of Analysed Files ?

The point of my sharing those playlist was to show a couple of example of collaborative playlists. I think its a handy tool, as DJ’s I guess we are all keen to share our music and like wise our friends with us. So now instead of sending youtube links to music to my friends via facebook/email we can add tunes to shared playlists – awesome I think!

    Hello Haroon 🙂
    Yes; that sounds Excellent :cool:;

    I am So Pleased you have found how to Record your Loops 🙂
    When I Learned How to use Ableton I followed a Course of Videos on YouTube;
    The Videos you Need to watch are by a man called
    808Remix1
    If you Press that Link above it will take you to his YouTube Channel;
    He has 80 Ableton Videos on YouTube; but just to start you off I will include a couple here for you;
    And then when you have watched these I Recommend you go to his Channel and watch some More 🙂
    The Video Following the 4 I have included here is called ‘01 Intro to the Mixer pt 1‘ just so you don’t get Mixed Up 😀

    I didn’t really Explain that the Man is DJ Vespers; a Certified Ableton Trainer; Highly Regarded DJ; and Fully Established Composer and Producer in his Own Right 🙂
    (Just in case anyone might think he is any old Looney in the Forest :))

    Haroon K, post: 4004 wrote: Great idea in theory, but in practice it returns very few of the tracks played, 9 of 33 that Tong played. I hope this improves, but it might prove hard for spotify to licence upfront tracks in time. Things may change in time, but its great to have the mechanism in place now.

    I also really like the collaborative playlist feature of spotify, bbc 6 music use it for their Now Playing playlists where they ask listeners, usually via facebook, to add their favourite tunes for a particular artist or theme, like bjork or depeche mode:
    Now Playing – Bjork
    Now Playing – Depeche Mode

    Could start one for the blog/forum?

    Emma – you dont need to pay for spotify – that britify thing works with my free/open version of spotify. The idea is not just to get tracklists, but rather to be able to play the music played in full in a easy process, when you want.

    Cool :cool:; Thank You Haroon 🙂
    I had No Idea that there was a Free Version of Spotify; I will look it up then; but I have to Sign up before I can look at the Links you gave including ‘Bjork’; but whatever you are Suggesting it sounds like a Great Idea to me; Especially as I have Tons of Bjork Music 🙂
    Let me know what you see under these Links and I will Certainly Contribute to whatever is under those Links if you think it would be Good for the Forum 🙂

    Don’t Pay for Spotify when you can get Pete Tong’s Tracklistings here 🙂

    Spotify is Probably Great for Everything Else 🙂

    Try this Rob:
    1: Make your Loop; then Drag and Drop from the Track Title ‘While It Is In The Loop’ to the Sample Deck
    2: The AutoGain Feature in Traktor is so that you can ‘Set The Volume Of 2/4 Decks’ and then Leave Them All Night and they will Stay The Same – the AutoGain doesn’t just Set The Volumes To Be The Same Automatically

    In Preferences you can Turn On AutoGain; and then Every Track that you bring in will be ‘Analysed’ for Volume as well as BPM; and will Adjust the Volumes to be the Same;
    You can Check This (and Make Sure it has Done it) by Right/Control Click above the Traktor Browser; and in the ‘Grey Area’ Choose to ‘Show analysed Column’; this Column will show you All the AutoGain Values

    I hope that Helps Some 🙂

    Hello Pierre 🙂
    If you would liek me to point me towards some Clear Tutorials for Ableton I would be Happy to;
    As; although I use Ableton Every Day; depending on your Previous experience within the DAW Environment; Ableton can be Quite Daunting if you only have it for 30 Days;
