    It’s always nice to have opinion from DJ/Producer with a lot of experience !
    I was not expecting such positive feedback. I’m not a professional, i’m mixing with a basic controller (Vestax Spin) at little parties of my friends.
    Your comments help me to know how i’ve to continue my way of DJ.
    I’ve decided to send my mix to a radio !

    Thanks a lot !

    That is Excellent News Thibault 🙂
    One of the Radio Shows you could send your Set to is the one I have given you a Link to 🙂

    So some people move forward some people move back.

    In your Friend’s Case though He Is Moving Forward 😎

    Is this good/bad?

    Yes; you have No Damaging Problem there my Friend 🙂
    Keeping in Touch However and Whenever we can is Very Important I Feel 🙂
    I know this is Different to when you are at Work; but I have ‘Built A Habit’ of sitting down at my Equipment every evening between 8pm and 1am and Attempting to be Creative; and even if I Achieve Nothing; I am Still ‘Back There’ the next evening; I have been Feeling Really Unwell for a Number Of Weeks now; but I still Stick To The Time I have Set Myself; I am in the Process of Creating a 6 Deck Set for a couple of people on This Forum; and although an Incredible amount of Preparation goes into this; last night was the First Night I got 2 Tracks to Mix Together; but Without That Attention to ‘Habit’ I wouldn’t have been ‘There’ to even do that; but within 35 minutes or so I had got 6 Tracks Running At The Same Time (No Samples) Twice; and so I went to bed Very Happy 🙂

    Sorry to be the bearer of bad news Emma – it’s just the facts! HP tend to sell machines based on fancy features and marketing, not build quality. But then again all manufacturers have problems, it’s just a question of what percentage of machines are faulty. And in regards to your Sony, it all depends what was the problem was in the first place – it could have been easily fixable, or not at all…

    (and HP, please dont sue me for defamation. Cheers ;))

    With my Sony Vaio I ended up with a Rolling Blue Screen (meaning that I would start Windows Normally; and when it had done that; it would Crash to the Blue Screen again); I think I tried a number of times with the Restore DVD I have; and where that had Always Worked in the past; it just stopped doing anything;
    It only had 700MB of Ram and Never Crashed Any Programmes I had;
    But this HP I have with 2GB of Ram (all I could afford – and that is a Loan); and it Crashes my Software at least 3 times a day; and just seems Useless :()

    Hello Keymar 🙂
    You have a Beautiful Laptop (Mac is Highly Recommended for DJ Stability); with 4GB; with is Ample Ram; and over 7 Hours Battery Life is Excellent;
    Your Numark Mixtrack Pro is also Highly Recommended on this Site;
    And your Headphones are Excellent;
    Your Speakers are Not Really Ideal in order for you to Hear Specific Frequencies; but I am Sure you will be able to Upgrade at a later date 🙂
    So; a Great Start in my Opinion; and you would be able to DJ Live with this Set-Up if you Chose to; (bearing in mind that the Club would have their Own PA System) 😎

    I think he was a little ‘Upset’ by the Altercation as he was taking some time to get back into the ‘Groove’ afterwards;
    But; I Certainly think this is in ‘All Of Us’ when we are ‘Doing Our Thing’; Especially as he was in a Hip Hop Club being Paid to Play Hip Hop (I didn’t really Know Kid Capri – but I Like Him Now :));
    To Stop his Set and Draw Attention to the ‘Requester’ was Unusual; but by Offering to buy them Drinks I think he Eventually ‘Managed’ the Situation Well;
    When the ‘Boyfriend’ started saying ‘You Need More People’ I felt that he was trying to Convey that a ‘Change In Style’ could have ‘Brought In More Punters’; but then if you go and see Kid Capri; I don’t think he ‘Expects To Be Challenged’;
    A Cool Video my Friend 😎

    Ryan Leo, post: 4507 wrote: I use sync

    to wash dishes…

    No really.

    I use sync all the time. As long as the beat marker is off to the right start I usually don’t run into problems with it. However, I do see a high important for jog wheels in this situation to correct any beat grid problems.

    I mean the big deal about beatmatching isn’t the actually process of beatmatching thats important its the ability to notice the slightest of pitch variations. You can still develop that skill while the sync button is used you just have to use your ears.

    If you fail to do the proper prep work with sync or without sync its going to be a disaster no matter how you look at it.

    Its not about Djing a perfect set, its about being competent in your mixing. You can make 100 mistakes as long as you know how to correct them the right way.

    This is Great Ryan 🙂
    But not to Hijack the Thread;
    Since my Brain Injury (after Years of DJ’ing with CDDJ’s – and Consequently using a DAW to DJ with now);
    If you have a Track Set Up in your Headphones (I Know this is Baby Stuff); and then Mix it in and have 2 Tracks Running (for 3-4 Minutes – if Anyone Does This); when and if one of the Tracks Starts to ‘Drift’ Badly’; to such a Degree that it isn’t possible to get it ‘Back’; what is the ‘Common Procedure’ for this Event ?
    It is Fine to Mess with the Pitch (Wheel?); I Understand that; but what happens when the Crowd can Hear the Tracks Drifting and you (or Anyone else) are Frantically Speeding Up/Slowing Down the Track and it just isn’t Happening ?
    I Personally Spend Hours in Preparation so I Know what Tracks ‘Won’t Drift’; but what Happens in a ‘Live Situation’ and Due To A Crowd Request (or a Quick Download from iTunes) you (or Anyone Else) are Not Absolutely Familiar with the 2 Tracks ?

    Honestly, it doesnt make that much difference, (I use a PC and it’s never had problems!) but whatever you choose, but just make sure you can get as much RAM as you can, as well as a reliable PC brand. For example, I used to work in a computer store, and the number of HPs we had to send back to be repaired was ridiculous! Hence why I went via the Dell route.

    Although a Mac apparently makes you look “cool”…. 😎

    I have So Much Confidence in my HP now Jeremy 😀
    I should have just got my Sony Vaio Repaired 🙂

    Lew, post: 4496 wrote: I should receive a free Traktor LE 2 licence at some point for registering the copy of Traktor LE that came with my Mixtrack Pro. When that happens I’ll have a play around and see if it’s enough of an upgrade for me to bother. I only use 2 decks, don’t bother much with effects and just do basic old-school mixing so other than the coloured and zoomable waveforms I don’t see much in 2.x to make me want to fork out 60 quid for an upgrade.

    Hello Lew 🙂
    To Be Truthful; for what you are Comfortable using in the Traktor Version you have;
    The Coloured Waveforms and Zoom In Facility (which is Really Poor); it Definitely Wouldn’t Be Worth £60 my Friend

    Hello Thibault 🙂
    I have just listened to the Whole Of Your Mix; and it is Tremendous !!
    I don’t Honestly Think you Need Any Advice from Anyone; as your Transitions are Perfect; and if you are Not a Professional Yet; then you Should Be !
    Your Choices of Tunes (although I don’t know them) made the Mix Flow; and Nothing sounded in the Wrong Place;
    I would just Continue To Believe in yourself; as You Have The Abilty Now; there is No Need To Wait Any Longer 😎
