Hello Steven 🙂
I think with your Hands On Experience of the Hercules MP3 E2; you will be able to Help Patrick in a More ‘Official Way’; as my Suggestions has just come from a Lot Of Searching 🙂
But with your Recommendations being the Same; I think Our Suggestions have been the Correct Ones 🙂 😎

That is a Shame Patrick :(;
But I have found a Video of the NI Audio DJ 2 for you; which actually shows you how it would be Beneficial for you in Connecting your Speakers; but also shows you Famous DJ’s who use it; and How to Connect it to your Laptop; and it also comes with Tracktor 2 LE 😎

Hello Patrick 🙂
Thank You for letting me know what Controller you have; that Helps things Considerably 🙂

Your Hercules MP3 E2 is a Beautiful Controller 😎
But it Doesn’t have a ‘Soundcard Built Into It’; so in order to get Sound from your Laptop to Speakers; you will
Need a USB Soundcard (which will have the Connections on it Necessary for you to Attach Speakers);

According to a person on the Following Native Instruments Web Page; they are Recommending you buy a Native Instruments Audio DJ 2 Soundcard:

How To Connect Speakers To A Hercules MP3 E2
The MP3 e2 is a controller (much like your keyboard) and doesn’t include a soundcard, i.e. the component that would allow you to connect speakers to it.
In order for your software (in this case VDJ) to interact with a mixer or speakers, you will need a soundcard.
Your basic computer soundcard might be enough for home, but if you are planning bigger venues, a dedicated card like the NI Audio DJ 2 will be much more efficient and flexible.

However I don’t know if you have to spend that much money just to Connect to Speakers; as on the Following Page
this NI AUDIO DJ 2 Costs £82 (but if you have the Money it is the Recommended Soundcard for the MP3 E2);

Native Instruments Audio 2 DJ USB Audio Interface 21102

I Understand from this following Page which is the WIKI for your Controller; that you Need a Soundcard that Must have At Least 2 ‘In Connectors’ and 2 ‘Out Connectors’

Hercules MP3 E2 WIKI

And because of this I am suggesting that maybe (if Money is Short); you look at this Soundcard from Hercules:
because it has 6 Connections:
1 x audio – line-In – mini-phone stereo 3.5 mm
1 x headphones – output – mini-phone stereo 3.5 mm
1 x microphone – input – mini-phone stereo 3.5 mm
1 x audio – line-out (centre/subwoofer) – mini-phone stereo 3.5 mm
1 x audio – line-out (rear) – mini-phone stereo 3.5 mm
1 x audio – line-out – mini-phone stereo 3.5 mm
1 x Hi-Speed USB – 4 PIN USB Type A
Hercules Gamesurround Muse Pocket USB – Sound card – 16-bit – 48 kHz – 5.1 – Hi-Speed USB

It is Always Important that you have as Many Connecting Cables as you will Need for your Soundcard; and as the Cables for this Soundcard are Only about £1 Each; I would Suggest you buy those too 🙂

Hello Steven 🙂
Great Thread with Great Topic 😎
When I first heard about Sub Bass I thought it was only used in ‘Dub’ Tracks;
But since learning how to make Dubstep; I have had to learn ‘How’ to make it; and make it Substantial 🙂
When Producing in Ableton; Sub Bass is Quite Easy as there is a Preset that turns any Kick Drum ‘into’ a Sub Bass;
But whilst using my Massive VST the Sub Bass has to be ‘Written/Programmed’; but again it is not Too Hard;
Going back to Ableton and using an Instrument called ‘Operator’ I can also Write Sub Bass Patterns;
At the moment (since my Headphones Snapped); the Headphones I am using don’t pick up the Sub Bass too well; so it is a little More Difficult to Write Sub Bass when I can’t hear it 🙂
Sub Bass may be in Many Other Genres too; but I have only just started learning about it;
But I Understand the Necessity of ‘Layering’; and do that all the time to make sounds ‘Fatter’ :);
It would be Cool if this Thread becomes Bigger so I (and Others) can Learn More about the Sub Bass 😎

Either way what emma posted is still correct just I know when changing over to traktor 2 I felt like they missed out these controls till I click them on my controller and seen them light up (I had all these mapped in traktor 1)

I am So Pleased you have More Experience in this matter my Friend :);
I moved from Traktor DJ Studio 3.1 to Traktor Pro 2; and have it on my Laptop; but have yet to use it 😳

Hello Dave 🙂
Apparently (so I have just read); all you have to do is;
‘Turn On Snap On Master Panel’

The Solution can be found here:
Snap To Loops

Hello Jack 🙂
I have just listened to your ‘Reloop Sessions 1’; and I have to say that your Fade Transitions are Perfect 😎
I would have maybe Continued the ‘Bass Loop’ from Martin Solveig until the first Break of ‘Funkaganda’; but that is only for ‘Continuity’ of Bass; as the Track that follows Martin Solveig seems a little ‘Empty’ at the Start;
But; the Feedback you Required was for your Transitions; and they were Faultless 🙂

And Well i will get my confidence! up 😀
Ohhh Alright Thank You i will take that into acknowledgment! 😀
And i learned i was mixing wrong i think? i using the knobs! to transtion! from song to song! Knobs Low, Med, high!
instead of the crossfader! :/

Hello Patrick 🙂
There is No Problem in using your Knobs to Transition ‘Rather’ than your Crossfader; it is just Remembering ‘Where’ those Knobs are when you begin your Transition 🙂
I don’t use the Crossfader as I like to bring Tracks in on the Volume Control Sliders; this way I am in ‘Control’ of how the next Track ‘Fades In’ 😎

Patrick, post: 5312 wrote: Another ? Would Be how would i hook up the speakers?
Im planning to buy some?
Butt Since i only have controller? And laptop! umm? 😮

You have your Laptop and your Controller which is Excellent; as these are the Main components you Need :);
In order to Help; or Suggest ‘How’ to Hook up your Speakers; we would Need to ‘Know’ Which Controller you are Using; and what Laptop you have; so if you can tell us that Please; we will Definitely have an Answer for you about How To Hook Up Speakers 🙂
(And if you Know What Speakers you are Considering Buying that would be Helpful too :));

mr stifffy, post: 5292 wrote: Haha aww its fine and sounds like a plan 🙂 im sure if I have it there ill use it, and yeah the subbase is amazing I have my bass amp running out of my sound system and you cant really hear it but you sure as hell can feel it, was thinking even ducking it so its just on the kick drum to add for a real heart hitting effect but wont talk about it too much on here since this is off topic chat :p

You could Make a Cool Thread such as:
What do you think of Sub Bass; How do you make yours; Do you think it is Important; What is your Experience of it;
That kind of thing; then we can talk about it Properly 🙂

Hello Patrick 🙂
I am listening to your YouTube Mix now and it is Very Cool 😎
You are doing some things there that only a Trained Ear can pick up; but this is Marvelous !
We just have to get your Confidence Up as your Friend’s Party wouldn’t know what Hit Them 🙂

Ah; Like Me (I am Happy To Admit); at 4.47 the Volume of the Track you are Bringing Is is ‘Too High’;
So those ‘Tiny Errors’ (as it is the Only One I have heard in the Mix); just have to ‘Watched Out For’ 🙂

That Would Be Excellent my Friend 🙂
But I have a ‘Rolling Subscription’ (so have been on ‘Live’ for 5 Years and will Continue for as long as I am Able); so I will be there when and if you ever have some ‘Spare Cash’ as I wouldn’t want you to buy a Gold Card and not use it;
But Yes; I have some Lovely Friends on there who you could Meet and have a Laugh with 🙂

And Many Apologies for not noticing your Sub Bass in your first message; I Love Sub Bass 😎

Havent played my xbox for soo long, used to always play skate 1 2 and 3 on it and the odd bit of forza 2, now its just a dedicated media centre with my external harddrive linked to it and since I found out my pcs remote can control it 🙂 might play on it later but really need to finish a electro-step song I promised my girlfriend id make for her, all ive got down is loads of subbase that vibrates my house

Hello my Friend :);
Thank You for your Kindness :);
It is just Such A Shame these days that my Brain just doesn’t ‘Allow’ me to ‘Keep My Balance’ as it once did 🙁
However; I have almost Completed Forza 3; so until people came Online I played that; but once a few people joined my Party; we played Rainbow 6 Vegas (for about 8 Hours); and then Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 for 9 Hours; I just Love the Strategy involved in those Games; and I could just play them Forever 😎
It would be Great if we were Friends on XBOX too (if you do use it at any time in the Future); my Gamertag is
Kaley Cuoco
But you would need to send a message as well just to say who you are; and then I can Accept You 🙂

Hello Patrick 🙂
That is Wonderful first of all that you are Confident about your Transitions and Mixing;
And also Wonderful that you are Confident with your Controller;
This Makes you a DJ 😎
So; with Being a DJ; it is a Case Of Working on your Confidence in Front Of People; and your Feelings Of ‘Readiness’ to Perform In Front Of A Crowd;
I would Hope to Reassure you by saying With Full Confidence; that;
1: Most (if Not All) DJ’s Are Shy (this is Why We like to ‘Hide Away’ in a Booth/be Seperated From The Crowd);
2: We Are All (Most) Completely Nerve Wracked before Going On Stage (unless Full Of Alcohol or Drugs);
Would it be Possible (Before you DJ at your Friends Party) for you to Play In Front of One of your Friends; then 2 of your Friends; then 4 of your Friends; and therefore ‘Building Up Your Confidence’ in DJ’ing in Front Of A Crowd;
Or even have a few ‘Close’ Friends over where you can all have a Drink; and you can DJ as if it is ‘No Big Thing’ ?

These are just ‘Little Techniques’ to Get You To Where You Want To Be 🙂 😎
