Thank You Mike for your Kindness;
I Apologise for Allowing the Ignorance Of One to ‘Affect’ my Feelings Towards The Whole Forum;
My Comment was Not Directed Towards Any Of My Dear Friends here;
However; I am Feeling ‘Pushed Out’; and Phrases such as ‘Negative Nancy Attitude’ are Hardly Helpful 🙁August 14, 2011 at 3:45 pm in reply to: First comprehensive "how to digital DJ" course coming on video #1001413Emma Partnow
MemberAs my Time here is Limited (and Nobody Gives A Monkey’s anyway); it doesn’t really matter what I say anymore;
But; this isn’t the ‘First Comprehensive DJ Course’ Of All Time; it ‘Won’t Cover Everything’;
And it Will Cost More Than Most Can Afford; I would Suggest in the Region of £200 PlusEmma Partnow

I’ll have to split it into 2 samples as I only want the latter word “Prak” to be repeated. And then probably drop & align the 2nd sample “Prak” with every kick gradually fading out the volume. I guess this would be one way of approaching it although that’s not what you probably had in mind. Which software would provide me with a Ping Pong Delay …and … would you suggest any other approach?
There are 3 Free VST Plug-Ins on the following page; and as long as the Main Software you are using Supports VST;
All you do is Create a Folder called ‘Steinberg’; Create another Folder ‘Within’ Steinberg called ‘VST’;
Then; when your Free VST has downloaded; all you have to do is ‘Copy The .dll File’ to your VST Folder;
So; for instance; if you were to Download the Middle VST on the page I have provided (on to your Desktop); inside the Folder will be a File called (something like) ‘bionicdelay.dll’; this is the File you ‘Copy To Your VST Folder’;
Your Software will Find this File; and the VST will be Available to Use within your Software Product;Your Approach to Splitting ‘DJ Prak’ into 2 Samples sounds Fine to me 🙂
EDIT: It seems I didn’t give the Web Link; but here it is now 🙂

FP 73HTA Green or a A&H Xone: 92 Rotary ?Well; all I can say my Friend; is it ‘Depends What You Love The Most’;
However; if it were me; though the Allen & Heath has Always been ‘My Dream’; as DJ’s we can Mix on Any Old Mixer;
But; for Racing; we ‘Must Have The Best’; so;
I would Choose the FP 73HTA 🙂Emma Partnow

I think you probably meant “MagiX” (a small typo) … heard of that too. Will probably try to give that a spin too someday and will certainly knock your door for any Ableton pointers when required. Thanks so much for the detailed reply.Yes; I did mean ‘Magix’ 😉
I still have Magix 12 and Magix 16 if you needed any Help with that;
But Yes; Ableton is my ‘Box Of Tricks’; and if you Need Any Help Whatsoever; then I will be Here to Help You (however Small or Large the Question may be); within the Same Day; and if I Need to spend some Time Organising a Respectful Reply with Tuition; then I will make it a Priority for you 🙂Emma Partnow
MemberPrakash Wadhwani, post: 5762 wrote: My voice does register pretty well on the mic as I have practiced a lot over the years being a percussionist and band leader and having introduced my band prior to & during performances + making other important announcements. But I wanted to deviate a bit and so will certainly look at the link you mentioned … plus I’m also looking at something like a bass drum kick loop at the beginning of the Mix with my voice overlaid like eg. “DJ-Prak … Prak … prak … prak” where the word prak gets echoed with a heavy reverb & spaced effect and repeated in sync with the bpm of the kick (something very short … probably just 1 bar/phrase). At times I’d like to use my own voice & at times other voices to add variety. ANy more ideas would be really welcome. Thanks so much for your invaluable input.
That’s Cool; as I have a Friend called ‘DJ Clak’; and he does Exactly what you are Suggesting there;
He just has the words ‘DJ Clak’; and uses either a Simple Delay or a Ping Pong Delay just to allow the ‘DJ Clak’ to Repeat 4 Times; he is not Particular about whether the ‘DJ Clak’ Repeat on the Kick Drum; as the ‘Words’ are Fading Out from the First ‘DJ Clak’;
However; if you make the ‘DJ Prak’ a Sample; then this will be in ‘Sync’ with your Master BPM’ so will not Deviate from the Track Underneath the ‘Words’; so will Never Sound Odd 🙂Emma Partnow

Although some might frown on that.I don’t know what Canyon Racing is my Friend; but we don’t really have any Canyon’s in the UK; so it sounds Cool to me (as does any form of Racing) 🙂

MemberHello Jeremy 🙂
I am Very Pleased to Hear and Feel that you were able to Gain Some Valuable Information from this Gig;
As this will stand you in Good Stead for your Future Events :cool:;
My Personal Feeling is also that if I was Shoved On First that I would Feel ‘Degraded’; or at least Feel that I wasn’t being Taken Seriously Enough to ‘Headline’;
However; having read a few Articles lately; it seems that not only is there a Lot To Be Learned from the ‘Warm Up Spot’; it also takes a DJ of ‘Some Quality’ to Pull it Off Successfully;
And as Names were just Pulled From A Hat (which is No Way to go about Business); the Order was Certainly Incorrect; as You had Done Your Reseach and were ‘Ready’; where the other DJ’s made a bit of a Hash of their Sets;
Well Done My Friend 🙂Emma Partnow
MemberHello Prakash 🙂
There is a Learning Curve to Ableton certainly; but there are Many Tutorials to help you also (Specifically to What You Wish To Accomplish); and I also have a Vast Amount of Knowledge on the Programme; however there must also be other Digital Audio Workstations; though it is Not Possible to DJ in Reason or Logic (though I may be Wrong about Logic); but the Learning Curves with Reason and Logic are Much Greater than Ableton; Oh yes; No Musical Theory is Necessary for Ableton as I have None 🙂
If you could get a Trial Copy of ‘Magic Music Maker’; the Learning Curve is Much Less; and it is Possible to Create an Audio-Style Mix with this Software too; (and the Full Version of the Software is Very Cheap)I have answered your Robotic Voice/Embeding Voice in your other Thread you made 😎

MemberHello Prakash 🙂
I have found a Site that has a number of Free ‘Voice Changers’ thta you could have a look at to see if they suit you:
http://www.snaphow.com/convert-your-voice-into-fake-voice-change-voice-male-female/
And when you say ‘Embed’ your Name at Certain Parts of your Mix; do you mean like a Little Jingle or something like Radio DJ’s use on their Radio Shows ?
Because if so; and you have a Microphone; this could be Quite Easy for you; and also you could use the ‘Voice Changer’ as well if you are a little Concerned that your Own voice is not Satisfactory 🙂Emma Partnow

This would be Amazing Marc 😎
I have a few Friends who Design their Own Cabinets for their Gear; but that is Nothing to Building a DJ PC and having Recessed Compartments within the Body of your Roadcase for Hard Drives; Monitor; and Controller;
I would get on to it as soon as you have all the Parts and the Time to Spend on it 🙂 🙂Emma Partnow
MemberPrakash Wadhwani, post: 5748 wrote: Been using this software for 3 years now. Excellent tool for constructing studio mixes … very precise entry/exit points … adjust the volume/treble/base on very precise portions/selections of the track. Looping, etc. I simply adore this software and so was wondering if there’s any other software out there that is as good or better to construct studio-style mixes ?
As “Stiffy” & “Christopher” have mentioned, it can prove “too-easy” for just laying out tracks & getting them mixed perfectly “in advance” … a pre-decided set. You can also simply drop in tracks live into the timeline & get them all perfectly aligned. For live mixing though I’d say it has “limited” usage & applicability. Traktor (or any other equivalent) would be the way to go for live applications. HTH.Hello Prakash :);
Thank You for you In Depth reply; that is Excellent 😎
My Step-Father gave the Software to me as it came Free with his SoundCard; but if you were looking for a Product that would help you to Construct Audio-Style Mixes ‘More Professionally; I can Certainly Recommend Ableton to you; and they have a Trial Version on offer for you to try out 🙂 -
