Where are these kids getting these trends from?
Basically they just sell some things underpriced (with actual loss) and all the other things barely few “cents” above manufacture prices. They are doing it big, in huge amounts and by keeping low prices they destroy their competition. Something like this in simple words.
It is like USA and some other countries destroying world market with their products. Example: USA gives subventions to American farmers so they eventually can sell their products under the actual price. You would say that this leads the country to destruction but that is not true. North America recently destroyed production of some resources (forgot which) in Jamaica because America sold their products there on lower price. This routine makes USA new markets. When everything gets f***** up they can raise the prices because there is no other farmers around still alive. That is it. BTW no offense to USA. Just example. Actually they just are clever π

ParticipantOne more thing I want to say. I realized, during the years, that people globally don’t fully believe the others. They don’t let them do their job the way they know, can… because they have, for example, their own money invested in this business or so. So they start doing things on their own, the way THEY think it gonna work, but usually this results in failure.
Even if you’re Barrack Obama’s pilot, you MUST not let him take over your plane when he wants to. But there is one other thing that seems common to society: huge amount of people would eventually “let Barrack control the plane” because they don’t want troubles from big, fat, wealthy men.ElMuppet
ParticipantI can see why you pointed out that question. But the answer imho is pretty simple. If you do mobile, wedding etc. dj stuff you should play requests. Not all of them, not right now but some of them at the moment when YOU think you should play them. The problem appears when people adress you in a way that you’re here to serve them. THAT isn’t true nor good because you should be the one who knows the job and you should be the one to make decisions about music played that night/event. And when people become arrogant and start kinda telling you in your face: we f****** pay you and you don’t wanna play things we want to hear, then is the time to start making complaints about taking requests, making apps which will allow you to get request lists etc.

They both fit your criteria of using VDJ and Traktor. I use the MC6000 and love it. I wanted to switch to Pioneer DDJ-SX (and Serato), but the MC6000 (and Traktor) have been solid for me so far.
Just one problem. As long as i can read MC6000 is 300$ over his buget

ParticipantUmmm technologically this app doesnt seem like a problem to make. It is practical problem. It is just bad idea for djs because then you can just make an app which gonna play the songs with greatest demand and sync them one into another. Mission accomplished! -NOT. DJ is here to entertain the crown in a way he thinks that gonna work. If he succeed in doing it hes good if he doesnt hes bad or just inexperienced.
There will never be an app replacing entertainment in Djing. Period.

They’re geared more towards graphics software, but I’ve noticed Abelton tutorials. It’s $30/USD a month, and you can sample free segments. I teach at a design college and frequently assign these tutorials so my students can get up to speed on software basics. Our school provides free Lynda accounts to all students.
Unlike many tutes that just explain one little software trick but don’t help you understand the bigger picture, lynda.com will guide you through the process. But you have to be patient & willing to sit through the course, which it sounds like you are.
Lynda also avoids the other big problem with “free” youTube tutorials: you have to wait 5-10 minutes to realize the presenter is an idiot. The instructors and courses are well organized and step you through the complexities and concepts. These tutes are structured like a class with video segments broken down into 5-10 minute chunks.
BTW I’m not being paid by Lynda to say this.
Totally agree at this point! Lynda IS good.
I recommend you one thing. You dont really need to pay for tutorials. You may, it may save your time but not necessery. As DJ Homei said: shorter videos are 100 times better then long ones. SO you shouldnt search for: how to do a dubstep song, but for videos that will show you functionality of a certain instrument, effect, device… And then, it is all on you. Experiment, fool around with each tool in Live. Try EVERYTHING and most importantly DO NOT rush! Use one thing for a certain period fo time. Do not continue untill you feel confident about it.I never paid a single penny for tutorials and I feel confident in Live. All I used was YouTube maybe some forums. You must not drown yourself in tons of information.
And the very last thing I want to say is: give it a shot and look up on YouTube this guy (he is active on this forums too!): http://www.youtube.com/user/JoshuaCasper22
Hope you get the right thing soon!

ParticipantLogic is more melodical based daw. Live is useful cuz its great for live preformance as well as production. I am using Live and I love it because it is great in many views. Especially because it’s layout is simple. You also have a little chatbox with useful infos about tool that you have your mouse cursor over.
I must say that you can’t go wrong with daw anyway. If you kinda like the workflow, you’ll be able to do huge thing after a certain period of time. You cannot expect simple daw, and you won’t get familiar with it in a day, but if you like the workflow and music itself you won’t have problems.PS: protool is another option for mac users, and it’s great because many big producers use it. I believe it’s the most common DAW by producers. (I use live)
