Gents, thanks for your help, this is the best website on the web and the friendliest forum ever, thank you,
I do have the money now to be honest but I have 1 question about serato, when you analyse tracks does it give you the key like traktor 2.6 does?

cheers for the advise guys..i think what im after is a more cdj like system without spending the big cash on cdj’s (frankly they scare the life outa me!!) which is what is attracting me to the ddj ssx which combined with the as the four deck format…is winning!!!
i did look at the 6000 but i dont know..i just looks a bit squashed to me!! and it wouldnt really be a step up for me from a 3000 to a 6000.

as for trying serato, it makes no odds to me..i used virtual dj before trakor so to me a software system is a software system.

to be honest i want more of a 4 deck control,

i play as the americans like to say edm..or in my language tech house, techno etc etc!!

just thought that the ssx is a step up from the denon, more control, more challanging..

as for the f1’s and z2, same as above..

All i do to mix was set the volume to 7/8ths and use the gain while whating the light bars to match both tracks volume while im lining the next track up…i had the high and mid set to 8 o’clock and the bass at zero ish, so when im bringing in a track i tend to up the highs to 12 on the incoming and lower the highs on the current tracks. then i do the same for the mids, all the while the crossfader is in the middle..then finally the bass.
But after reading 2shea’s advise i tired his technique last night and it sounds spot on!!! much more fluid and sounds soooo much better…
cept i did not count the bars..because i dont know how..but now ive realised that 8 bars is 32beats(?) so ill have another go over the weekend..but what i did with the e.q’s and having the volume to zero is great…sound very professional!!

What’s annoying me is the fact that I don’t like to leave the laptop on all night, so I tried to do it in the day but had to go to work with traktor having analysed about 2000ish tunes, now how the smeg do I analyse the rest without doing the whole lot again?

    Infuriating!!!!!!!!!

i really need to read the instructions for traktor!!!! hahahahaha

i just watch the green lights on the mixer and fiddle with the gain on the track coming in to get them nearly the same volume!!

traktor..coz it came with the mixer!!! and im computer illeterate so i wouldnt know how to map serato to my mixer!!

BUT i prefered djuced from hercules because it told you the key of all my tunes..so harmonic mixing was easy and free..now i have to save up and download ‘mixed in key’ to get the key of the track…..

cheers terry…cant really afford £1000+ just for a computer, and like you say for a semi or pro dj then they are good..

my take on this for me being a bedroom idiot, then windows is fine, and at £300ish i can get a good spec desktop..

    thanks
