MemberOk guys, thanks! Sorry for not paying attention to the thread, I didn’t seem to get any more email notifications… So basically, I shouldn’t bother to do anything, because even if I did I would hardly get a cut, huh?

MemberI’ve used creative commons before, but I want to know if it is appropriate for this kind of work, or if copyright is a better option (I think you have to pay for it though). Anyways, it’s better than nothing…

MemberOk, that’s pretty much all the doubt that I had… Thanks!
On a side note, is Creative Commons the way to go for licensing?

MemberRight now, I’m not looking towards making any commercial use of my tracks (except, say, including them in my sets), yet I want to be sure that if I get a record deal in two year’s time there’ll be no issues…

MemberA Traktor Audio 2 would be enough, all you need is a four-channel (two stereo) sound card. To use an external mixer, you would need to configure traktor’s audio settings in ‘external mixer mode’. I believe the Audio 2’s outs are TRS, so you would need a TRS to RCA cable to plug into the mixer. I guess that’s it…

Thanks for the reply!
The thing is, I don’t have the time to order anything (It’s next wednesday) and I don’t think I would be able to fit all of the stuff in the VMS2/4 bag, since it is designed to carry the unit + a laptop only.

MemberCongrats Bro!
I recommend you ask them to let you have a look at the amp, that way you can be exactly sure about what cables you need. Remember though, that there is a difference between balanced and unbalanced audio, so check for that!

MemberI’m sorry, that’s not what I need. I want something to AUTOMATICALLY fill empty tags based on the contents from other tags that are already there.

MemberYou have to consider that netbooks are designed for one thing in mind: web browsing. This is a task that hardly requires any computing power, yet is one of the most popular uses of computers. By putting a cheap package that will allow you to do web browsing, netbooks become an attractive piece of equipment. But if you try to run any software apart from a web browser on a netbook, you’ll find that it is far from smooth. Netbooks can only run the most simple of software, and unfortunately, Modern DJ Software isn’t one of them.

MemberI’ve seen that the Vestax Typhoon is good, affordable, has an audio interface and nice jog wheels. If your child is going to just start, then it will be fine. The problem will arise when he becomes overwhelmed because of too much control, of overgrows it quickly. The Vestax is not too complicated, so that should be good for some basic stuff, and I guess that the supplied software should suffice.

I did consider them for a while, but realized that the lack of buttons was annoying. I would like nice jog wheels, but in a controller that would have lots of buttons as well.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I intend to replace my Hercules controller, so by that I mean Jog wheels, Mixer etc…
