Memberi cannot stress enough how important it is to NOT USE AUTO GAIN dvs systems and software based dj’n system analyse each track for gain, but they do not account for the increase in vaolume (there fore distiortin sound) when mixed.. further more they do not leave room for effects like hessler said…. part of being a good dj is knowing how to use ur ears… like beatmatching… ur ear will always be better than a sync button

Memberi used to dj as part of a crew.. and we had a lil inside battle between ourselves…. some one would come up with an off the wall mix (flo rida low and tone loc wild thang) and each week we’d see who could do it better and with the most originality… sure it was one of our homies ideas but it was a bita game to see who did it better with more flava

It was worth the wait. and like Smitten says it is like a brick but lite as a feather. Has velocity and after touch capability as well so you can add alot of punch when triggering effects.
I LOVE MY AKAI LPD8 8 pads 8 knobs all kinds of fun great for cues and effects and all relatively inexpensive

Memberi had a strange incident… i had reowrked sum 1200 for a mate.. new tone arm, rca’s, internal ground…. and when he used serato.. instead of the wave form reacting, it would scan the crates… it took for ever to realise i had switching the l/r phono lines and it when plugged into the SL1 backwards it worked fine… my oversight caused the wierdest thing…lol

Membergood on ya… i had to sell my 1200’s when i moved to the uk…got the vestax’s and now dying for techs again… not to mention i know how to do all kinds of mods to the 1200’s like internal ground, led’s, custom paint, etc.

Memberdont forget the 70’s classic star wars disco remix ! ! ! !

Memberive had 1200’s and now on a set of vestax pdx-2000… which have alot of the same features as the ttx…. the ttx start up torque is great but the platter weight is a definate problem as the technics ha sthe magnet mounted direct to the platter giving it nicer feel for turntablism… tech will always be better in my opion, but the newer deck (ttx’s and pdx’s) have sum nice feature like reverse and the extended pitch range… which is great for scratching bass lines and learning diff scratches much easier

Memberdancehall tracks are reasleased in “riddims” so to slam together a great dancehall mix, try to 3 or 4 tracks (on the same riddim) together… then in true dancehall fashion…. back spin the last track drop an airhorn sample and drop the next riddim and start again…. thats how its truly down… look for the riddim packs from label like vp or green sleeves

Memberthe novation dicers work perfect with serato for loops as they are native to serato and set loops per beat count based on which button i press … the loop is instant and always on time…. you can also set cuses on the fly and as u cut back to your cue point (the start of the loop) you can start the loop in/out.. to be honest im kinda ocd about my music so every time i add new tracks.. i analyse them then set/save the new loops… the dicers are nice though as the loop on the fly is nice addition when im fresstylin with other djs or doing dj change overs

ive mapped my lpd8 for effects and track load and use the dicers for cue points, loop roll, loops, and mapped them for my sample player… im happy with my setup as i mainly play hiphop funk soul breaks sum dubstep and top 40 stuff i dont do too much edm so no need to get crazy with mapping and such… ill be postin pics of my war centre a bit later

Memberi use scratch live and always have from day one… all my dj mates use it… and im sorry but i just cant get into the controller thing… i been on vinyl for too long and cant get past the shear extacy of those control vinyls under my finger tips… lately ive been adding controllers like the novation dicers and the akai lpd8.. and while i do enjoy not having to touch the laptop… i need hard ware to interface with that feels solid…
