Im not really a new comer as i been dji’n for well over 10 years but that was back home in the states where opened for guys like dj krush, faust n shortee, dilated peoplpes, etc. i also worked for PUMA, and Red Bull, but that was for not when i moved over here to the UK 4 years ago. its like startin all over again, and because of my different style (aka not house) bookings are well hard to come by where am so im hoping this gets me a lil clout so i can land some future gigs. mercedes blendz (whos also in the comp) is sick but again were two different styles of dj

itch and ssl use the same crate info so you wont have to re-do your crates

    Beats by Dre

good: they were free, loud, i like the kill button

bad: battery powered, dont sit nice on me neck, they get hated on ALOT but they are still great cans

I live in Northants, but I’m from the USA. I been here for almost 4 years now. I had a pub residency but the manager went all Ibiza on me and said he wanted nothing but house music, and subsequently he killed his business.

I mainly spin hiphop / ghetto funk / dancehall / moombahton / etc with heavy HEAVY doses of turntablism

Id love to find another spot to play so if anyones lokking for an “urban” (lol) dj, hit me up

in reply to: Do you play a non-EDM genre with digital gear? #1009163

I cant get used to jog wheels whether on a controller or a cdj, so i stick to SSL with control vinyl. i havent had to change my scratch style or re-learn riding a bike so speak and the fact i can jump genre and now pull of sick juggle routines with cues makes digital the way to go, but nothing will ever beat the feel of vinyl under your finger tips

I seriously dont agree with this. while traktor does give you infinite control in midi and allows all sorts of macros, ive seen more cpu crashes happen on traktor than ssl. as for the effects, most people i know use the on board mixer effects rather than traktor. for all out ease of use , you cant beat ssl and it verticle wave forms make performance dj’in (scratchin and what not) easier and beat matching (with out sync) also easier. traktor is great for what it does technically but as a dvs i find it lacking

and these are just a smidge of whats going on in my brain. i havent even gotten into the blues/rock/fuck/reggae stuff yet

in reply to: Are you a controllerist or a DJ? #1008038

I play/make music.. nice and simple… im a dj/turntablist that uses contollers to add even more to my sound. i think in a way ive moved past labeling myself… i play not just music, but my version of music, if im not playin remixes, im making em and im playing out tracks while cuttin n beat jugglin… so to say im a dj or a controllerist is a bit hard to define.. so for now ill call myself a musician.. or like my man rob swift said… im an abilist !
