When you say “I know in my heart…” it kind of answers the question…
I think most of the older DJs started like this…went from one software/platform to another and as you can attest, every software/platform has its strong and weak points.
In the end it comes down to you, if you’re willing to spend a couple of weeks/months learning a new software or just sticking to your guns.
From my point of view it would be an enormous hassle to juggle 2 software’s that basically do the same thing…

Hummm…I brought my Pioneer DDJ-SX when they first came out here in the Uk and never ever had any problems…I understand the apprehension about buying the right equipment and problem free, but as the old adagio goes “shit happens”…About the static electricity, I’ve never experienced any; and Im the kind of guy that can shock you if I use to much clingfilm….

Unfortunately that’s the reality… nobody likes to change, but its inevitable…so many top DJs started out playing different styles only to realize that if they didn’t change, they would not get booked; very few remain faithful to the core like Paul Oakenfold (trance), Milk & Sugar (disco house), etc…
I personally dont mind playing EDM but if I know I can get away with sneaking in a few disco house tunes…
Going back to your question, I dont think its possible because the sonority (or whatever you want to call it) its different, so instead of thinking that you will loose your soul if you play EDM, think of it more like playing for the customers and in between what they and you want, make a compromise….
    Long live HOUSE!!!

    Hummm…my way is a little more personal…
On the HD I have the following folders:
70s, 80s, 90s (In this case the music is sorted by decades)

Then for stuff that I need to know when it came out(in this case I need to know what is the latest)
    DEEP HOUSE > 2015/2014/2013/… > song
    PoP > 2015/2014/2013/… > song

and the “Pièce De Résistance” would be adding this folder structure to SERATO, then create Playlists with the songs I know I’ll play the most and insert them as subcrates…

Ok…this is a very touchy matter…from all the DJs I know only 1 has a license…but that doesnt mean you should not have one… the venue itself must have its own license ( I think they need 3).
So from what I managed to gather (without asking the PRS directly) I need the PRO DUB license and if they ask, I have all the CDs @ home… 😉
