MemberI’m sure this topic has been brought up a million times and I have read the blog post. I do believe it is important to have a name. Not using your real name for obvious reasons. I just need a lil creative help from you gus to come up with a name. I’m having a hard time coming up with one.

MemberI’m gonna use touchosc for Traktor Pro. Pretty good deals on the Ipad 1st generation. Just wondering what the limitations would be if I want to use DJ apps on it.

MemberMost are 2gb of ram. I will definitely look into an upgrade to 4gb before purchasing… thanks for all the info!!

MemberGood to know…. Thanks. Also, sounds like a dumb question but do these older macs have the apple that lights up in the front of the case?

MemberSo far the ones in my price range are 2007-2008 models. Most are 2gb of ram but say max supported is 4gb. Should be ok, I hope. What about OS? I don’t have a clue. Which should I be looking for. What’s the best OS? As far as screen size, most are 13″ and some 15″ widescreen which I’d prefer. I was planning on hooking up a a monitor anyway…. Here’s a link to one that I was looking at…..

That’s talent. It’s like using the turntables as a musical instrument.

MemberI remember back in the days of analog with my 1200s I taught myself to scratch and when I did scratch at a venue, people loved it. Only in moderation though!! You’re right though… anybody can play music; but what it comes down to is the talent of reading the crowd, and knowing what to play. A little scratching just adds a bit of uniqueness to your set.

MemberAs far as mixing hip hop. cue point the fist down beat of the song & slam in next song after a phrase. or do 4 bar loops to mix in. hip hop doesnt usually have long intros/outro to mix in & out… but, using your looping within the software will allow you to extend these. phrase matching is another way but you have to know the songs.

MemberNot sure if i can do this here. But, look up DJ Mebbe on the web. Once a month he puts up new hot hip hop for download. usually stuff that isnt even on the radio yet.
