I’m trying to post regular links to songs I’ve discovered and mixes that I make. When I get a gig (mostly local gigs in Holland) I’ll put up a link to the event. At the moment most posts are in dutch, if I get many international likes I might switch over to english. In the meantime, enjoy the music.
Done for you mate! your turn now 🙂

MemberThanks for that detailed reply Steelo! Yes, I currently connect to a line input, which i am going to switch to Phono as suggested. I will try to reconfigure the gain as suggested but do you see any possibility of this being a problem with how the external mixer is configured with the PA system. Reason being, the CDJs connected to the same mixer sound perfectly normal with no clipping or additional bass/hum.
Will keep you posted once I try out the Phono and the other settings recommended by you. Cheers, Dj Swap

MemberTerry: Thanks a lot for the add & the warm welcome bro! I must admit, this forum is one of the most happening one where people respond and help. I already got an answer to my first post about Traktor S4 setup issue. Cheers for that!
Yeah, getting back to your question – Pune is like a satellite city to Bombay and has one of the most elaborated nightlife possible next to Goa & Bombay. We have had many big names visit due the amazing party going crowd response and some of the venues that are state-of-the-art with world class music systems. Some names worth mentioning – David Guetta, Funkagenda, LMFAO’s dj Lucky Lou, PoPof and many others. Most sought after genres are – Techno, Tech Minimal/EDM. Most Djs are on CDJ 2000s and very few like me like to walk in to a gig with a Mac & a digital controller.
Some well known Djs & Mtv Vjs in India have a formed the first official EDM Music company called submerge (check em out on http://www.submerge.in) who bring in international artists and organize a woodstock like festival called the “Sunburn” which moves from Goa beaches to Bombay to Bangalore and Pune.

MemberMore about the problem – If I lower the input gain in Traktor s/w to as low as -15db and adjust the hardware master gain knob on Kontrol S4 such that the controller gain is not clipping (no reds on the S4 meter), the external mixer gain shoots up and starts to clip full red. If you reduce the gain in the s/w or controller out, the external volume doesnt sound right and it sounds as if i am only playing bass – mids and highs are not too clear…
The work around that i am using which is not correct – using the trim and keep it at 12 o clock position on the Pioneer mixer and similar position for the master gain of the mixer. Use the external mixer’s channel EQ where I am connected and change the HIGH to 3 o clock, MID to 3 o clock and LOW to 9 o clock. Traktor s/w internal gain to about -15db to -12db and S4 h/w master gain to 12 o clock. This does the job for now but I would like to know the ideal settings for hooking up my S4 to a club mixer & PA.
Any help in this regard would be greatly appreciated.

My setup – Mackbook Pro i7, 4Gb RAM. TPro 2.1.3 with S4, 4 channel Pioneer external mixer
