    I would say go for it. 1) Here’s your chance for some exposure. 2) When you start doing gigs for people you can learn how to adjust. Everybody doesn’t listen to rave or etc… 3) A lot of people,parents,schools pays very good for parties & proms. Especially if the DJ HAS VERY CLEAN MUSIC!! Trust me I learned this the hard way!!

    You know you all are right!! No matter what you DJ with a laptop or Technics(which would be me). The art or DJing is no longer sacred!! It used to be an honor to say you DJed. Not any longer,LOSERS will do anything to discredit you. For their 15 mins of fame!! My beef is this, if you’re a DJ that’s not sure of yourself. Then you’re no good!! Take the time to hone in your craft!! Not prosper off of someone elses!!!

    Umm, honestly it all starts with YOU!! I mean you can watch ever video in the world. But if you’re not serious & willing it won’t matter at all. I taught myself I’m from that era(yes I’m that old!!) where internet didn’t exist!! We had to earn our stripes with hard criticism!! That’s the main reason why turntables have lasted so long. My advice also would be ALL youtube DJ videos. Because no DJ scratches the same no matter how long he has been in business. And practice like crazy. Because the same day you incorporate scratching.Will be the same day you’re take seriously!!

    Me myself, I prefer the ” echo ” effect. To me it just end a song off right!!!

    Hmm, that all depends on how you use them. Myself personally have brighten up my mixes using effects. I use effects right after one song ends & new one begins. It creates that echo effect in the air.

    I like ustream.com while you’re there check out djsnoop23(I know shameless plug). Also soundcloud and youtube,vimeo. If any of you have mixes online post where. So I can check em out. I mean I can’t plug myself & not listen to fellow dj’s in return!
