    Music Selection >> Flow …
    If you selected wrong music for the wrong crowd, flow doesn’t matter
    You play country music in front of the hip-hop crowd, all your country music is flow like a river in heaven, BUT, ya know ? no one cares its just a wrong music !

    As OP mentioned in his first thread, that he is just starting to learn how to mix 2 songs, starting out by mixing a dubstep it would be a big wall for him, it’s like throwing a baby to a swimming pool, and tell him to swim

    You mentioned you already made some business cards, that’s Good !! (Just make sure the flip side of the card its all blacked out or at least people can’t write on it). Now put that thing on great use, spread em all around your gears while you performing, in easy spot where people can pick it up. After your gigs don’t rush up try to racked up your gears and go home, go to your crowd, or if you not confident enough or shy like me, pretend like you going to the bathroom (lol), 99% if your set is good, strangers will tap your shoulder, “Hey man Awesome Sets!”, that’s your cue to strike a conversation with them, hand them your cards, do you have demo mix CD’s with you? Make 20 copies of them, and handed them out also
    Word of mouth is a wonderful thing, use them, abuse them !

    Yeah, you all right its very overrated and expensive,
    For the EMP (Electronic Music Production) Course, the fee is : Rp. 25,000,000.00 (approx. $ 2,250.00)
    And the only car i prolly get ever close to work on is the old-beat up Pontiac, lol

    Seems like you heading to the right direction,
    But in all those 70,000+ people in University, have you considered making a connection to a fellows DJ at your local university? Seems like from your story, you the only DJ in your local campus ?
    Make the connection …
    And i dont know why you NEVER tell people you a DJ ? DO tell ! If the topic never comes up, bring up the topic yourself ! Heck, you went to the club and party, these are “your people”, your “future clients” ! Let them know you A DJ ! Its not a “pushy” attitude, its a marketing strategies…

    “Yeah man, I just spinned at this local parties last weekend, it’s hardc0re !!”
    “oh Snap !, you a dj ??”
    “Yeah !”
    “Man, im having this private parties next week…can you…???”
    Yeah something like that …

    Networking & Communication, best darn marketing strategies tips !
    If you prefer the philosophy of “Silent is golden” eh, i don’t know how you can expand more …

    Same thing goes for those “hologram” DJ thingie,
    A touchscreen DJ ? eh…just a gimmicks not really worth it right now,
    Its a pain in the arse to set-up, and the latency just horrid !
