There is also a “Filter” button in DJM 900 Nexus, i do this technique sometimes when mixing a song i usually twist the knob to the right and combo it with the “Echo” fx

For a private party, when it usually starts off around 7 pm or so, I arrived around 4-5ish, plenty of time to setup the table, position, check-sound and what-not, I mixed around 30 mins or so, and then slide into my mixtape, then i excuses myself to grab a bite, dipped myself into the indoor pool, use the spa facilities, socialized with the clients that hired me and their VIP guests

Just dont get too cocky and asked for out of this world rate, you just have to find that “feel-good” rate, which can bring you more more clients in the future without scaring them off right out of the bat

The OP said he only used pioneer ddj sx, which I believed it comes with Serato software, hence the difficulties to just plug n play Serato with the in-house CDJ’s , unless the OP already possessed the knowledge of Traktor,

Keep it simple just like Chuck suggested, use usb and be done with it

Dont let “the other guy wished you can DJ at his upcoming event, but he already hired someone else” gets you down, feel proud of yourself that you can make that guy regret that decision, next time it will come around and it will landed on you my friend

    Keep your head up !

    6A & 131 bpm,

As far for mixing the harmonic kind, theres tons of variety that you can do, you can go 5A, 7A, 6B, or you can jump 8A, or jump backward 4A

But if you still dont have the songs matching all the above, go with your ears, throw all the rules out of the windows they just guidance anyway

Just because many people recommended not joining a DJ pool, its not hurt for you to check it out yourself
I’m one of the people who would recommended to join the DJ pool (or at least check it out and see for yourself), they do have the selection of the clean and dirty version, and most of them stamped in their song title like for example, “BlaBla – Shake That Thing (Dirty)” that means for dirty version, “BlaBla – Shake That Thing (Clean)”, for…yeah you get the idea

I live below India, so Im pretty sure the situation about the same, and in my hometown I NEVER stumbled a clubs where the manager opts for CD’s and Ipod only to run their club, the most poorer club in town still use DJ’s with of course less expensive gear like cdj 100’s, if the venues cant afford the DJ equipment they relies on the resident DJ’s to bring their own stuff, even in not-so-club environment like a cafe or a lounge they always have a DJ spinning

Maybe you not look hard enough ? Im sure being a high school students limited your movement, but since now you graduated, go out there and explore

Plus if you have your own gears (like controller) maybe you can approach the CD & Ipod Club Manager, and offer your services tell them you have your own gear, asked them to do a live demo and impress them ! who know they be like WOW this DJ got some skills PLUS he got his own gear !
