ParticipantOne tip: show them Pete Tong: It’s all gone.
Love this movie. It reminds people how important the ears are and also show deaf people that they can succeed becoming DJs.+1 for that ! Its a great watch !

ParticipantWas just thinking, how did you all get your first gig? Was it for someone you know? Or did you take the plunge and advertise yourself?
In DJ world its very essential you know the right people,
My first paid gig is this girl working at the PR at the club, my cousin know her, introduced me to her, i sales-pitched her and got the gig on the weekend, Friday i think it was a Halloween theme event if I’m not mistakingAnother one is if you have some kind of type of Event Organizer (EO) or DJ Label, try to make contact with them and ask if you can join them,
Most of our local club event is arranged by EO or DJ Label,
For example is this one –> http://www.1945mf.comLamid45G
ParticipantMost of the DJ’s use Itunes to managed their play list, cuz its better integrated to any DJ software
Start out with small amount of tracks, dont try to hogging them all in 1 playlist, you will get more headache lolMost of my gigs lasted around 1-2 hours, most of the time I know ahead of time what kind of club and music I was going to spin at, and build my playlist set around that,
And of course like many already stated, in the LIVE event, its not always that simple playin track 1,2,3 and so on, sometimes you skipped a track or two, or moving in reverse or just random,
But you can rest assured everything you need is just in that ONE folder, so you dont have to search and dig aroundLamid45G
ParticipantHellow there thump !

ParticipantHellow there deathy and welcome,
and we DJ’s always amazed on how one can produced a tracks on their own so the feeling is mutual indeed
Cheers !July 25, 2014 at 10:39 am in reply to: Can I DJ using a PA System and a Touchscreen Ultrabook? #2045811Lamid45G
Participant1. Can I DJ using a PA System only with my Ultrabook?
I mean, for parties and bars, is it possible to connect
my Ultrabook’s sound output directly
to my Headphones and PA System Monitors simultaneously?Sure its possible, all you need just an INPUT in your laptop
2. Which cables and adapters would I need to do that?
You need an RCA converter adapter thingie not sure what is it called, Radio Shack sell em, it basically a stereo cable with two females at the end of it, for your RCA cable
4. Do I really need PA Booth Monitors?
Not really, you right you can just mix it inside your headphone ( I called this Inside Mixing ) or if you use Serato you can just “Visually Mix” via your laptop screen
I really do hope you not trying to do this kind of setup in some professional events/gigs, it would make you looks un professional and amatuerish
