Based on your preferences you might want to check out Fruity Loops, a lot of Traktor folks chooses that DAW

LOL my tought exacly Phil, was this after party ? but why its called after party if you play before the club opens? (aka The PARTY itself)

Just have to see what kind of enviroment you going to be spinning at? a lounge where a lot of people just sit around drinkin and socializing ?

The good rule of thumb is (imo) is to play anything under 128 bpm (of course exclude trap, hip hop, rap dubstep any hardcore stuff)

@NGDJ : How did you choose Traktor, Mashup and Audacity ?
I would put that into practice when choosing your DAW

    Howdy and welcome !

But I think as a DJ you should try to educate your audience

IMO, when you first started I stay away from this kind of ideology… its hurting you more than you think.

Can you elaborate more in details, how you actually prepping yourself for this gig? For Ex. you said you do not have any current top 40’s and such that the promoter asked you, how you preparing for this ?
And what kind of specific songs you played and what kind of request they asking?

I’m just wondering, cause I’m sure our readers will find the solution to your situation helpful for them, if they ever get in the same boat as you are
