Definitely subscribed to one of those DJ Pools, when “certain genre” gets hyped up, most of the new releases will carry that “certain genre”, like how its happening with Future House now, all the new releases carry the Future House influences, be it new original mix, or remixes of latest Top 40, just like how it happened with Beatport Top 100, all the top 10 crowded with Future House type

Granted just like Melbourne Bounce, Future House doesnt have its own Sub-Genre section at the Beatport, they do however at the DJ Pools, labeled under genre “Future House”

Simple question is why ? why b2b with 3 DJ’s at the same time ?

Cant you guys just simply do the 1-2 hours shift instead ?

If you worried that no one will listen to what you specialize, how about moving toward to stuff that folks will listen ?
You can start out that way at first without being “sold-out”, after you get recognized and getting more gigs, THEN you can start infuse it with yur own style

    At least that’s what I did …

ANd yes friends is important, who else would come to see your show if it aint your friends?
Annnd DJ friends is important also…
So start making that connection !

    1. Forget harmonic mixing,
Its just a tools, if you did prepared your set, use your ears its your DJ best buddy !
PS: to beable to keymixing you not neccessary depends on the traffic mixing, use keymixing software aka Mixed-in-key, keyfinder, those software will tagged your songs with the keys, for example, you analyzed a song Justin Bieber “Sorry”, once the software done anlayzed it will tagged the file with this format 06A-Justin Beiber “Sorry”, it will show up in your cdj 2000 screen, in the file name and in the upper right corner

    2. Being a “Closing DJ” sometimes just have to dealt with that kind of situation, folks started leaving home, just a few peeps dancing, because the event almost over
Ask your fellow DJ’s see if you can have the “prime-time slot” aka around anything above 12 midnite, like 1 am, or 2 am slot

A lot of beginner DJ’s use the kill the bass EQ trick to hide their train-wrecked mixing, use it wisely ^_^

1.Which technique has been the most difficult to learn in your experience

    Turntablism,
But then again this is not essential in DJing, unless you put on a solo show featuring yourself showcasing your turntablism skills and such, or if you participating in DJ Battle

    2. Which technique (if any) is the most important in your experience to keep the crowd happy

    Reading the crowd,
Like most said above me is one of the key elements in DJ ing

    Timing,
combined this with “Reading the Crowd”, you have the know the timing of when to drop that special music, or timing in this case is to keep the flow not losing the momentum

Being A DJ, I put myself in the middle of the battlefield

I know exactly which part of the music I play that will shake the crowd in front of me, and I know which one I have to avoid

My advice would be start saving up from now, that way you have cash already piled up somewhere once the courses opened, ad keep in my mind once you pay for the courses its yours forever

A good time to dropped a sample is for me is … hardly none lol

If u spin rnb and such, you heard most rnb dj’s drop one of those super annoying and overrated fog horn, I do that myself just to annoyed myself lol

Or if you spin Trap, you can hear the famously sample, “Damn Son, whered you find this?”, they dropped it most of the time after the signature melody pops in
