ParticipantJust spent two weeks reloading tracks then went online to retrieve album artwork and same thing happened for the second time. When I load Serato it sees only song name now with a number in front of song name. is there anyone else this has happened to?
ParticipantYeah I worked hard collecting these, seems this town isn’t big on techno/dance. I don’t know how my artists and album names got lost but I’m working to fix. Just wish it was more stable. Got to a point where the library would “re-build” itself but not good.

ParticipantPatrick, Probably the best thing to do is hunker down and read the traktor manual. I think there’s something they call “The Traktor Bible” that book will teach you everything you need.
ParticipantPatrickMallory, I’m not real good at this, but to give you someplace to start see what format your music files are, say like aac, aiff flac mp3, wav or other it’s the extension at the end of the file name. I have files in my old computer with wma and Serato won’t play these files.It won’t even bring them out of the “album” folder. You may have some luck burning your cd’s into your computer by ripping them in with a compatible file format. Good Luck! I hope this helps you.

It’s for an NS6, so it’s pretty big, although I read kinda fast and missed the SL2, but it may be big enough for his needs

ParticipantYes, Dubstep is the norm at least in my private club. I turned some people on to some dubstep and they returned in a couple of days saying that it made them drive fast. And a former co-worker of mine she just loves dubstep but didn’t know any names of any artists she liked. I wonder if it’s that people just count on DJ’s to bring it to them. Seems like Sirius is still playing dubstep as it keeps my meters in the white (Numark NS6). Maybe “Metalstep” is next.
ParticipantVinnyBlanc, I think you should top the i with a white “stop” symbol and a white “play” symbol above that, and change your font to westminster, just a thought. But the red going to lighter is cool because it resembles the NS6.
ParticipantVinnyBlanc, I like the bottom right one. But if you print them yourself, the bottom left one may be the way to go. Some peak colors might be good.

ParticipantCaru, What OS do you use and what media player Itunes or other and do you have problems with losing media information?Also do you use Bea Tunes or Media Monkey or similar program? I keep my media on an external and I’m having issues with some that are on the internal drive. Thanks

That’s really cool, sounds like you actually have a passion for music. When you can have a mountain of cd’s and albums in a 6x2x8 hard drive, why not? Although trusting organization to software leaves a lot to be desired. Windows media player was always good to me as far as organization. Even if I had a double of a certain cd WMP would recognize only the information and tell me it was already ripped to the library. As far as I know it has NEVER lost information or re categorized it into unknown folders.
Then there’s Itunes it does whatever the heck it wants.If you had a double of a cd it recognizes it as another cd,meaning if you’re not paying attention you could end up with a bunch of duplicates. It has put all my songs into unknown album and unknown artist category, at least in the Itunes Media Player. I thought maybe this was a virus but after reading some Apple forums others report the same thing, due to the format you’ve ripped it in as. Thankfully Serato has retained a fairly good Library and searching is instantaneous, if you’re a good speller and have a fast computer.
So bottom line is I think it is possible to have an organized library if the software developers would start to earn the money they are getting paid instead of making crap software, maybe I’m wrong but no one has a solution for me as of yet and I can’t believe not another DJ has not had problems like this.
I also would like to hear some more ideas about this subject!
Participant1,479Gb’s ALL LEGIT. 700Gbs EDM the rest is rock and various. That’s just CD’s I haven’t digitized any vinyl of which I have 400 albums. Or my music DVD collection of which I have about 100. The CD’s are recorded in WAV format. Some juggling of files has made itunes media player search useless unless you know song name. Does any body know of a way to repopulate itunes media information album name, artist name and artwork? Other than starting from scratch and using Apple Lossless, which I kinda leery of ,fearing it may do the same thing as what I have currently.
