ParticipantThen we have a similar mind set. I would be incredibly happy 2 gigs a week. I’m lucky my dad is a sound guy for many local bands so any time I need a PA system I have it. But i have always wanted to learn to mix music but with all the equipment needed then it was not cost efficient. Enter the digital age and here we go.

ParticipantGood for you bro! I also did the course and have had 3 gigs under the belt and progressing. I only do it part time since I have a job that has to be my priority but it does not stop my drive.
Honestly with out Phil’s course I would have never taken the steps to dj. Congrats and keep plugging away.

ParticipantThis advice is not only for Dj’s but networking is huge. Hang in there and keep moving forward.

ParticipantIt’s tough out there bro. I was told a long time ago if things came easy you would not appreciate them. Ever consider starting out somewhere outside your area. Grow a following then try again. Also maybe try networking in with these people. Help out if needed.

ParticipantNope nothing while I am working. Different if its my own house party but if working nothing.

ParticipantI’m into it and I use itch so it’s a free upgrade. It would be nice to be able to map some effects to buttons I don’t use much. I have been switching to traktor but now I may be delaying that switch for a while.

I would go for the mk2. Though I have never tried the twitch so I am a little biased. The vci 300 series are just good controllers.

ParticipantI used the av40’s and they were decent but I did replace them with rokkit 5’s. Bu they were definitely good speakers for the money.

ParticipantYeah I just started messing with video. I like vdj pro but really prefer the itch workflow. But I think for now will stick with vdj pro and look into a video card. So far I am happy but like many of us need to peek over the fence to see if the grass is greener. Thanks guys!

ParticipantNot sure I use the senny hd280’s and love them. I don’t feel the need to be trendy.

ParticipantI like he looks of that bag. I need to find something for my vci300. Is here padding between the sections?
Michael Wills
ParticipantI use serato itch so they definitely come in handy?
Michael Wills
