MemberI’ve been trying to avoid sites like beatport, because as you said it is very much commercialised, i’ve just been searching for drum & bass labels that aren’t necessarily mainstream
DJForensic
MemberI’ll take the advice on board, I do feel sometimes that my mixes are stronger in the middle and as you said it’s best to start off strong to hook people in and listen to the whole thing.
Thanks
DJForensic
MemberThanks for your views maybe I’ll give Rapid Evolution a shot first so I don’t have to fork out money that I don’t really need to spend.
DJForensic
Memberthanks, every drum and bass mix has to have a bit of camo & krooked I think 😀
DJForensic
MemberWould agree with what DJimC, great song selection (btw what’s the remix of the camo & krooked song, as its a bit of banger?)
DJForensic
MemberGood luck, look forward to hearing how you get on 🙂
DJForensic
MemberThanks for the tips, I was thinking of using drum & bass in the mix, but may have to practice with hip-hop.
I’ll have to look out for the Bang Gang might learn something from themDJForensic
MemberThanks, better get practicing
DJForensic
MemberThanks, definitely constructive, I’m currently playing around with loops to delay the build up of the incoming song for smoother transitions. And with the volume levels I occasionally forget to turn it up 😀 but again that comes with practice.
I’ll be sure to check out your work 🙂

MemberBriiliant mix, great remixes and I also liked the masup between greyhound (absolute tune btw) and call me maybe (probably shouldn’t admit it on here but it’s my guilty pleasure :D). The transitions were tight very impressed
DJForensic
Memberthanks for listening to it, it’s good to hear that you enjoyed it and letting me know what you thought of it, I’ll be sure to check some of your mixes out as well
DJForensic
MemberVery impressed, the fact the it starts and ends with knife party is already a thumbs up for me.
From what I could hear the transitions were seamless, the only one that didn’t sound quite right was the lead up to antidote, maybe fiddle with the EQs a bit, but that might of just been my headphones, there were a few places where the sound was a bit distorted but again that could’ve been my headphones.
Didn’t even see Rage Valley coming but I like a suprise in the mix that suddenly turns a corner and I also liked the use of the breakn’ a sweat sample towrds the end and didn’t sound out of place at all.
As well as soundcloud have you checked out mixcloud as well? it’s very similar but I prefer it as it’s better suited to DJ mixes as you can timestamp the mixes to let the listener know what song is playing. Just a thought.

MemberThanks for the awesome feedback, just the sort of thing I was looking for. Some of the transitions were a bit dodgy but I feel that the music choices make up for this in places, looping is something I’m working on as I also feel it will improve my mixes tremendously.
Thanks again, and I’ll be sure to check some of your work and let you know what I think of it. -
