ParticipantHere’s another that makes me crave warm weather. I need a vacation somewhere in the Mediterranean.
Title: Church Lady (Souldynamic Organ Dub)
Artist: Dennis Ferrer
Label: King Street
Genre(s): House, Deep, Soulful, JazzyI usually advise DJs when you picked three remixes of a tune in your shopping cart, to whittle it down to one. I couldn’t and ended up buying the regular Souldynamic remix, the instrumental, and this wicked Organ Dub, which is my favorite. You just get lost in that groove and can’t believe when it ends.

ParticipantYAY! It’s Wednesday and I have some tunes to post!

Title: Love for the Music (Piano Mix)
Artist: In-akey
Label: Nite Grooves
Genre(s): House, Funky, Jazzy, SoulfulWhat’s not to love about this one? Just the bouncy texture and wonderful instrumentation. Ibizan producer In-akey just blew my head off, and made me think of sunny days sitting in quant settings with cold beverages, and a good groove.

ParticipantAnd my second in an entirely different direction:
Title: Rebirth Of Slick (Cool Like Dat)
Artist: Digable Planets
Label: Pendulum Records, ElektraGenre(s): Hip-Hop, Acid Jazz
Year released: 1992Back when you could hear good hip-hop on the mass media. Back when MCs used college-level English. Oh what a time…

ParticipantHere’s one buzzing in my brain today:

Title: I Beg Your Pardon
Artist: Kon Kan
Label: AtlanticGenre(s): Synthpop, New Wave
Year released: 1989In my youth, I simply loved the synthpop sound, and felt it was a very discombobulated tune. As a older adult, I realized how much of it was a big sample track.

ParticipantI’m in the USA Vintage…decided to post before bedtime because I knew I’d be busy on Friday. 😉
Graham…I so remember Signum. All those Tidy Trax days. Nice pick.
GerdB, that last tune…so Stock, Aikman, and Waterman.

ParticipantHere’s a hot one I grabbed off Traxsource. Unfortunately, there isn’t any clip on Youtube or Soundcloud, so I’ll link to it on Traxsource:

Title: Philadelphia Congas
Artist: 10drums
Label: FQOTO Records
Genre(s): Funky House, Latin/Afro HouseAlex Moschopoulos
ParticipantOk, got some free time to toss in a few new ones. Cube Guys have been impressing me lately:
Title: One More
Artist: Richard Grey & The Cube Guys
Label: Cube Productions
Genre(s): HouseAlex Moschopoulos
ParticipantOk….few things.
GerdB. Smooth stuff. Great picks.
Vintage…this whole part of the forums is a “music” section, so I imagine posting/talking about that tune is ideal. I also think your tune is “new” enough to post in the Tuesday section. I merely didn’t want people coming in and posting old tunes they went crate digging for. That’s Fridays. I just wanted DJs here to talk music…as opposed to just gear/software.
ANYWAY…the tune you posted is pretty cool. Feel free to post any music you think is cool and worth sharing. I mainly get a kick out of seeing what others are into. Gives me a global perspective.

ParticipantI would tell you that this is a case when live beatmatching skills are essential.
The best way I know is to listen to the song the accapella came from, so you can learn its timing and flow. Other half of the battle is to find the ideal tunes to lay said accapella on.
I think for live mashups, many will fix up their tracks in a DAW or something so they sync easily.

ParticipantWelcome Allan.
On an unrelated note…any tips for making a good Scotch Pie???
Alex Moschopoulos
ParticipantPretty cool stuff. The clips as you posted are fine. I simply just wanted people to post a means for others to check out/listen to the stuff you’re sharing.
Thanks for posting…please feel free to post every week or whenever you like. It’s just cool for me to see what others are playing in their neck of the woods.

ParticipantOne more for today…changing it up to trance. ReOrder of Slovakia:

ParticipantApologies that I missed posting actual music last week. Was a horrendous week at work.
Here’s another I recently picked up on Traxsource. Just a nice funky/jazzy/jackin groove:
Title: Jazzy Cigar
Artist: Alex Raider
Label: Kaleydo Records
Genre(s): House, Jackin House, Jazzy House, Funky HouseAlex Moschopoulos
ParticipantHere’s my second, aligning with the theme of live rave acts…
Title: Something Good
Artist: Utah Saints
Label: FFRRGenre(s): Rave Techno
Year released: 1992Another tune I fell in love with when I encountered their video. It just had a strong sound, with a simple vocal sample of Kate Bush’s “Cloudbusting” leading the way. This tune actually made good headway in the US, gaining loads of love on many a college radio, even to the point where Utah Saints appeared on TV for a brief moment. In Europe, the tune just blew up all over the clubs and charts, even being used in the Opening Ceremony of the Barcelona Olympic Games of 1992.
The Utah Saints themselves are Jez Willis and Tim Garbutt, who took their DJ and electronic music production into full band mode when they performed. While they mainly just DJ now, they’re still releasing new tunes and remixes, including a nice remake of “Something Good” back in 2008.
