ParticipantWell if the club is paying you for a set, then play including the extra hour.
If youre getting paid for a 6-hour time slot, then play until 3amMostly what I would to is talk to the club owner. I don’t see why he wouldn’t see where you’re coming from for having such a long set, and would either say play till 3, or pay you a bit more.

I would never again bother buying any PA. In clubs you have a club PA, in bars you usually have a PA, for anything else (weddings, events,…) just rent the darn thing and put it on the promoters bill. Any decent promoter will be OK with this.On the contrary Terry, I use this PA for house parties up to 200 people with no issue for sound quality and loudness. I know that you like the 10 watts per-person rule, but i find that good location of speakers is golden with setting up a PA for an event.
For large venues ill use 2 Yamaha Dual15″ 1000-watt speakers and 2 JBL 2000watt 18″ subs.
But the Harbingers have never really let me down, even when the crowd gets big, the sound is just fine in the back of the party.railings_731@yahoo.com
ParticipantI tried it out this morning and found that the headphones worked with my cue knobs on my controller. The LE, I found, does not allow for audio config…when you click ‘config’ it asks you to buy Pro. So….you should be able to use your headphones…(my setup was RCA to speaker, with the Phones plugged into the controller.) But may be limited with more advanced setups by the lack of ability to configure your sound setupd with LE. Uprageding to VDJ Pro from an N4LE edition should only run you about $140

ParticipantVDJ offers things Traktor can’t.
traktor appeals to EDM-only Dj’s
VDJ is more of a ‘work tool’VDJ has an automix playlist function – something invaluable to wedding DJ’s
VDJ has video dj-ing – something Traktor (let alone anyone else) can’t offer
VDJ also has the Key of the song displayed – something Traktor users don’t have, and would have to pay $20 to get mixed-in-key
^
to list just a few 🙂Don’t get me wrong, Traktor has remix decks and tons of effects, but that stuff interests no one who plays outside of EDM clubs.

ParticipantDJ Connibis, post: 31034, member: 3937 wrote: Hey ! my college student pocket’s just dont have the depth in them that I’d like and im riding the fence on what to invest in within the next few months. I’m currently using Serato with Mixtrack Pro, and i have speakers set up for at home but any mobile gigs I rely on provided speakers. So I am highly considering purchasing a decent set up that will increase my independence as a DJ. On the other hand, I wonder if just having a more advanced controller with more capabilities would be a wiser route of investment. My attention is on the Numark NS6. Which do you think would be a more wise investment, and if I chose speakers (any recommendations?)
I had this dilemma last year, and chose PA over a new controller.
Having your own PA is immensely liberating. You can market yourself to any college kids who throws house partys much easier. If you ARE a mobile DJ, I would strongly recommend PA over the NS6.
2 reasons why:
1. Any mobile DJ truly needs SOME sort of PA that they can rely on
2. The NS6 is too big to lug around.I have a MTP and two Harbinger APS 15″ Speakers. The MTP fits in my laptop bag and the Speakers fit in the back seat of my little 2-seater Firebird.
I also had a limitede budget, so I invested in PA first, and now -having the PA- I am making 20-50 bucks a night doing college house partys, and that income has allowed me to save enough money for a new controller.
-hope it helped 🙂

Participanthmmm….i have both Pro and LE versions…so ill try mine out and see if my LE has the same issue…it could be that LE doesnt have headphone cueing but ill check

ParticipantJlo – I completely skipped the studio monitor route, and used the money i would have spent on them to help pay for PA’s. I have two Harbinger APS 15-inch speakers. They each have a 200-watt amp built in (APS means active speaker system) so you dont have to spend extra money on an amp. They each have big 15 inch woofers so the bass is fine for house parties without the need for a dedicated woofer….because that would jsut get cops called on me haha.
So i would recommed you do what i did, i am very happy with my pruchase. One Harbinger APS 15 costs $249 at guitar center, but they provide plenty of volume and bass for my 80-person college house parties. That way, I can just put one or both in my room and use them when i practice too 😛

Participantas you can tell, I use the MTP and love it. It has all the essentials you need, with little fluff and frills. Its made of plastic, but it is very road-durable.

ParticipantFirst, make sure that your sound config is set to speakers &phones. Second, make sure the song you want to cue is the highlighted track for cueing. Third, the cue knob – at one end – is set to PGM(program) which is what is coming out of the speakers, means your headphones will play what is coming out of the speakers. At the other end, it is set to CUE, which means your headphones will only play that track that is highlighted for cueing, and not the program.
