Maybe look into a entry-level Hercules controller?

Its small and compact enough to fit in your backpack, and some have in internal i/o, so it saves that space too….while offering 4x the features of the dj2go.

    just something to consider 🙂

If my understanding is correct, you want a better library? In that case, I wouldn’t really reccomend Traktor…It feels a bit underpowered in the library nav department…the only software I could say has a ‘better’ library section is Serato..but I’d make the case that VDJ really does have the most intuitive and user-friendly library. But then again, to each his own, and given enough time, any program could be crated to fit your needs.

in reply to: Behringer 215d as my first PA System ? Advice #32709

I Have a good freind who’s a DJ and a member of Phi Kappa Alpha, we do parties at his frat house every weekend with 2 Berh Eurolive 12″ 600w actives, and 1 Harbinger 400w rms 18″ sub. PLENTY of work for the 200 people who show up nightly. Plenty..the Ber’s put out plenty enough power that we have to keep it all turned down, and they don’t sound harsh or cause ear fatigue after 4 hours of partying. I don’t know how the 215d relates to a 12″ Eurolive, but my freind’s Berhingers have been doing the job faithfully and with good sound for 2 years running.

That being said, I respect Hee’s expertise on PA. I’d agree that 1 main and 1 sub for 200 seems seems…a stretch.

well in that case my advise would be to get an audio i/o 🙂

the dj 2 go doesnt have an audio interface, and those cost about $90 – thats how you use headphones. I’d advise against the dj 2 go, simply because youll outgrow it quite quickly.

My opinion is that those would do you just fine for your less-than 100 people house parties.

and a 15 or 18 powered sub can always be added to produce low end. Jimmy, you may want to look at only one main and a sub? 🙂

Except studio monitors are not meant for a live environment…Phil has posted several comments on various topics about why studio monitors should NOT be used for live use. PA (no matter quality) is sturdy, set in a tough cabinet, has some sort of overload protection, and is developed for a “wide” cone of sound. Studios have a “close” cone of sound, are vulnerable to overload, and have no literal phsyical protection from a drunk punter. I think Phil’s blog post was “studio monitors v small pa”. It’s a relatively new post, Jimmy, you may find your monitor v pa answers there

Jimmy, go to Seismic Audio . com. very affordable PA that you dont need to break the bank for. I think they offer an active 15″ main powered 500w for..like $180-220. I have something similar to them and they boom my house partys just fine. I’d disagree with Hee when he says you need 2k. I feel like i know what your situaiton is, and 500 will be able to get you a rudimentary PA. again, check out seismic audio

woaaaaaah that is crazy! My upgrade from Broadcaster was $249….but my serial from my Mixtrack Pro LE version made it $149…..cant understand how a more expensive controller doesnt close the cost of the upgrade more 🙁

I just use a standad mixer case. They come in all sorts of sizes and widths, and all u gotta do is measure ur controller. My friend had a spare mixer case lying around from his band playing days and it works perfect for my gear

i’m new the the forums here but i have been using a lpd8 for 7 months now with my reloop mixage and VDJ i haven’t had any conflicts. the lpd8 comes with an editor if you did have a problem you can change the midi ch or note to some thing that wouldn’t . it’s great for what your trying to do since you can map the knobs for volume and the use the modes to change from record to play if you want to chop up the track for VDJ . but to mapping it you have to have VDJ pro

lovely, thanks Zack. i have pro, so no worries.
