MemberThank you you guys for your opinions. Sincerely, that’s why I love this forum : everybody here keeps in mind that the most important isn’t cue juggling and making damn combinations of effects with a strange midi contoller ! (even if it still fun for us)
Spending time on this forum make me realise that I don’t want to be a futuristic digital performer, I just want to a good dj using digital gear for better playlists management and easier mixing 🙂

MemberI also use so the over-mentionned effects but I LOVE the gater on traktor pro !! It put it on just 4 or 8 bars and in some traks ir really ROCKS, what I love with it is that the crowd immediatly see you are doing something with the track and they like it 🙂

MemberClean mix, very relaxing 🙂

MemberNo it won’t : when you press a button on your controller it send a midi note for example CC01, the tsi file read it and says to the software “press sync” for example. If your friend as a different tsi file on his computer this same button will still send the same note, but i will do something else in the software.
You can also use the same computer with the same software with 2 different tsi files : the tsi file contains your mapping and all your preferences !

MemberMaking a controller work with any software isn’t jsut abour drivers, it’s also about mapping : mapping is creating links between hardware and software, so as you press play the hardware says “hey software I pressed play” and the hardware reply “ok hardware I press paly”.
The DDJ T1 Is a fully mappable controller, which means you can assign every button or knob to any fonction in the software, So it will work with traktor pro, you can map it yourself (very not easy), or simply download a file which contains all the assignements for traktor pro 2, this is a “.TSI” file. You can download it directly from the pioneer website, then you just have to follow the instructions. Don’t be afraid that”s very simple !
But make sure you have traktor pro 2 on your computer.

Its like if i were to sell you a keyboard thats fully programable…but will only work for windows 7 service pack 1…but if windows releases service pack 2(which they never will just hypothetical) the keyboard will have to be completely programmed from scratch…Yet they dont tell you that it wont work…just that it works really really good right now.
See how this can be construed as bad business practice?
That’s right, I agree with you, it’s really disapointing from DJTT :/
Actually, I wasn’t meaning that it’s the buyer is guilty to not be able to map it, I was meaning that you take “less risks” if you can map it yourself just in case there’s an issue 🙂Dj RM
MemberI’m almost sure that VDJ allows you to send the master output to the right and le cue output to the left, so a splitter cable wiould work well on the software.
Splitter cable allows you to listen the next track you’re going to play in your headphones to beatmatch it with the track the crowd ear, which is the really basis of Djing. So make sure it work with VDJ and let’s practice 😉

MemberI think whenever you purchase a product that says “fully mappable” you must be able to fully map the controller by your-self. Because as you guys said, if you’re not able to map it and if there’s a bug in your TSI, you’re screwed :/
I make my own mappings from nothing for my RMX and my akai LPD8. I can tell you that starting from zero on a mapping is the best way to have no bugs, because you now every control and most importantly how they interact 🙂

MemberNice work, that’s efficient !
Dj RM
MemberI liked it, nice work ;). Nothing else to say
Dj RM
MemberI agree with terry-42, go for the mixtrack pro. I’ve got a RMX and it does the same job, it’s very solid but the jogs are tiny 🙁
If you have 300$ don’t go for for the RMX2, you can find better at this price range, it’s my point ;).December 12, 2012 at 11:47 am in reply to: Wireless/Headphoneless/Powerless DJing The Next Big Thing? #33511Dj RM
